Laser Cataract Surgery
The whole thing went like clockwork. I was checked-in. Set up in a bed, visited by anesthesiologist, given pre-ops. Then walked to first part which is done in a chair. Then went to the second part -the surgical part, was put in a bed and given mild anesthesia via IV. Everything went smoothly. I never felt pain- the most I can say was parts were slightly uncomfortable. Dr. Chang is fantastic. Very nice and very skilled. She had explained everything in prior visits. She is very thorough. You are in good hands if she is your doctor. I'm a retired nurse and I was impressed by all of the staff and by how smoothly the procedure went. I can see great, now. The results were better than I expected.

Dr. Chang performed a cataract surgery on my left eye that was out of control. She is a miracle worker, as the eye I couldn't see out of for over 3 yrs. is restored. The day after surgery I got my eye tested and was perfect 20/20 vision, missing only one letter. Thank you so much Dr. Chang.

Everything went perfectly! I'm over the moon happy
I had the lens in my right eye replaced due to a cataract. The lens was a special one to correct the astigmatism in my eye. My vision in that eye is nearly perfect and the procedure went smoothly. I can't wait to do my left eye now! I am thrilled!

Frustrating process
This is a difficult review. Dr Chang is good and I am pleased with the results so far, so I would give her a better review, but the entire experience (2 cataract replacements at D'Ambrosio) has been very frustrating-mostly related to the costs. I was presented with procedural options (mono-focal, multi-focal lens, etc.), and the $4125 per eye costs for the multi-focal option by Dr Chang. I also was told that there would be some additional medical costs (e.g. surgical center, etc.), but not provided a list of who these service providers were, what services were being provided or how much the expected costs would be. When I contacted D'Ambrosio, I was told the costs were from outside their office and they didn't have details. Contacting the providers was equally non-productive. I continue to receive bills for services I was not expecting. Some of these costs are for procedures done by Dr Chang which 'were not covered', but most are for 'other' providers (totaling almost $2000 now)

One of best eye docs in Massachusetts
She is unbelievably knowledgeable about current events in eye care. After living with one eye that is one for the medical journals, 8 surgeries, she has helped my vision even more. She is a great surgeon but knows her limitations and sent me elsewhere for surgery to top corneal specialist in USA. I will trust her to operate on 'good' eye when the time comes. She will not steer you wrong. She improved my vision when Mass Eye and Ear corneal specialist could not.

Because she is that good, Dr. Chang is very busy.
Even though she is busy, she still managed to explain everything and answered all my questions and concerns. She is high energy, and a fast talker sometimes but still manages to get everything in. Realizing how busy she is, I did not feel rushed. Was very pleased with my corneal surgery and recovery. Glad I was fortunate enough to have her as my Dr. Thank you, Dr. Chang and your wonderful staff.

Unbelievably Disappointing!!!
In the 4 visits I made to have my cataracts removed my total actual time with Dr. Chang might have been 5 minutes. She couldn’t speak any faster if she tried and these are my eyes we are talking about. I know I’m partially to blame because I should have slowed her down. She always seems to be in a rush to get to the next conveyor belt patient. After first surgery I was told scar tissue occurred and should be able to be polished if my vision started blurring. Ok? Her favorite line ok? After the second surgery checkup I was told that my scar tissue was extremely close to my optical nerve and could cause major problems. Ok? If this happens run to your eye doctor. I THOUGHT SHE WAS MY EYE DOCTOR!! When I asked if that actually happened could it be fixed. Her answer : sometimes yes sometimes no. Ok? See you next year!!!! NEXT YEAR !!!Yeah I don’t think so . Since being given that super professional response I have incurred intense anxiety awaking everyday expecting the absolute worst.
