Let Me Down
Dr. Horner was my PCP for approximately 10 to 15 years. During a majority of that time, I placed my trust in her. However, during the first outbreak of COVID, Dr. Horner started to change for the worse. There were several red flags raised, but I ignored them thinking she would return to her normal. In the beginning of this year, I started seeing her for serious medical concern and wanted a diagnosis. Instead of focusing on a diagnosis at each appointment, she kept suggesting that I get a COVID shot. I told her I was not there for a COVID shot but was there to find out why I was having my symptoms. I was reprimanded for not getting a COVID shot. She then asked me what I wanted her to do for me and I said that she was the Doctor and should know what to do for me. Afterwards, I went to several different Doctors and finally got a diagnosis which resulted in major surgery. Please reconsider your choice of Doctor's if you need a diagnosis of a medical concern.

#1 Doctor
I have been a patient of Dr. Horner for many years now. I love her bedside manners, I love that she always listens to me, I never feel under graded by her. And we have conversations outside of the reasons why I’m there which makes it feel like more of a friendship with her and not just a doctor visit! Thank you Dr. Horner for always making me feel good

Dismissive
Not a good experience. Dr. Horner is consistently quick to dismiss concerns and does not take the time to really listen. I saw another provider soon after who was baffled by what Dr. Horner told me was normal. It wasn't normal, and I had to pay out of pocket and advocate for myself to eventually get the treatment I needed. To boot, she's got some anti-abortion rhetoric hanging up in her office that made me extremely uncomfortable.

Dr. Horner was the worst doctor I've ever been treated by. I made an appointment to see her when we first moved to Boulder as I need to establish a new PCP in our new town of residence. She was so aggressively rude to me and had no bedside manner whatsoever. She was condescending and abrasive throughout my appointment and chastised me because I am an adult with ADD and need medication to treat it. I never went back to her, but instead, I have seen three other excellent doctors in the same office since that visit. Sadly, all three of those excellent doctors have left the practice in Gunbarrel after their contracts were not renewed...seems too coincidental that all of the good doctors are forced to leave, while the terrible Dr. Horner stays and chases everyone else away. I think it's time for BCH to send Dr. Horner into early retirement and let the good doctors come back to Gunbarrel.

Worst experience I’ve ever had. She had her own agenda about what my health goals should be and proceeded from there. This included telling me to stop taking particular supplements that were prescribed by my hormone doctor who makes her recommendations based on blood work she has me get every 6 months. Dr. Horner actually never even asked me what my goals were. I felt dismissed and disrespected. At 74 I am accustomed to doctors who include me in treatment options and care about my feedback. I’ll never go back.

Simply the best doctor I’ve had the privilege of being treated by! She is AMAZING! I credit her with saving my life by keeping up with my preventative care and catching stuff early on before it was too far along to be dealt with.

Dr Horner has her own ideas and did not listen to what I was experiencing. She convinced me that I didn't have the problem I was having and then after I left I just felt frustrated and still very worried about the condition for which I was seeking help. A complete waste of time.

I used to love her for myself and my boys, but in the last couple of years, I have had to listen to some very judgemental comment from her. I had a hip issue because I was kicking a heavy bag. Her advice? Quit doing that. Luckily, I have a friend who is a physician who helped me and I've been fine working out at my level for years. My adolescent son has had two major surgeries, one for a collapsed lung and one for a botched abdominal surgery. He suffers from chronic GI issues.

I've only had 1 appt. with Dr. Horner so far but she listened attentively to everything I said and took notes. I know doctors only have a set amount of time for each patient but I didn't feel rushed at all.

I was fired by this Dr! And I left a very good review of her after first meeting. When I asked her about her decisions for my treatment she was defensive, and said “if you are questioning me you don’t trust me to do a good job and you need to go elsewhere”. I was stunned.

Went in to see Dr. Horner as a new patient, as I have moved and changed insurance so I need a new primary care physician. The "new patient physical" if you can call it that was a joke! Barely asked any questions about my past medical history, the bare minimum of an exam. Didn't ask any questions about I how had been feeling, if I had any concerns or questions regarding my health in general. I am in the medical field myself and have no confidence in her ability to keep me well.
