Dr. Ackerman is the most concerned, knowledgeable, caring physician I have ever know. I am a picky, critical person and she exceeded all expectations.

She has a bit of the old school "doctor as god" complex. Doesn't like to be questioned or have her view challenged. I have had excellent docs in the past who were truly my partners in my healthcare who treated me with respect and respected my own level of knowledge and engagement. She was very dismissive of me and my concerns. And given that she only works part time, it's difficult to get an appointment.

She spent a majority of the appt. looking things up on her phone and told me she'd never prescribed one of my daily meds. This made me question her knowledge and lowered my level of trust. Did not have me undress to do a breast exam or check for skin conditions- didn't feel like a thorough physical. Probably won't be going back to her, but willing to look at other mds in the practice.

I will say that it took her some time to get to the room, but when she was with me I felt like she really wanted to help and make sure that I was satisfied with the care I received. She is lovely and freaking hysterically funny. I have never had a doctor that I have liked so much and I'm so happy to have her as my primary care physician.
