Dr. Zhu performed my EMG, which went ok, but was dismissive of symptoms that make no sense for diagnosis I was given, even after I tried to clarify the underlying cause for those symptoms. Hard to communicate with. Did not address concerns.

Condescending, Dismissive & Uncompassioniate
When Dr. Zhu came into the office his demeanor seemed annoyed and as if I was an inconvenience. He barely addressed the issue at hand and instead vascillated between asking questions about prior issues and answering for me as if I wasn't even there. He cut me off when I was trying to explain to him about my chief complaint. No testing was administered. My pain level was 8-10 and when I asked for help he stated angrily ' we don't give pain medication here'. His response was condescending and mildly hostile. The name of the clinic is 'Pain Management' and they ask you if you're allergic to any medications when you fill out the intake paperwork; he lied. He treated me as if I was a non entity/hypocondriac/addict and that my pain wasn't legitimate. Dr. Zhu had zero empathy and I left that office demoralized in tears because I was in an IMMENSE amount of pain where I could not sit, stand, sleep or walk comfortabley. Don't go to this man he's an utter disgrace to the medical profession.

Dr. Zhu is by the most compassionate and caring physician I have had during my long and at times frustrating period of dealing with my years of being treated for long term chronic pain management. He takes the time with you to get to know you and become familiar with your specific condition and needs. He is understanding and truly seems to care about your individual treatment for chronic pain. He listens to your feelings and offers new treatment modalities of pain management.

Went to see him for a second opinion and was actually referred to a different doctor they said I had to see Dr. Zhu. He never examined me at all just told me that I was fat and that was the problem. So when I asked him if I lost weight that would fix my back issues he responded NO you will just have to deal with the pain. Then he wrote a prescription for a drug I told him I already tried and it didn't work. Only see this Doctor if you want to waste your money

Dr. Zhu is an excellent physician. His staff is efficient and professional. His facilities are clean and maintained well. His surgery center is outstanding and the staff there are wonderful. Dr Zhu takes excellent care of his patients. The wait time is minimal compared to other Dr's I have visited and he is very compassionate when it comes to managing your pain. His treatment is ethical as well as professional and to high standards of medical practice. I would highly recommend his office.

Dr Zhu has been my physician for a few years now and has performed quite a few procedures on my back, everyone successful. Since my condition is inoperable he had been able to ease my pain considerably. I hope he stays with Midatlantic Spine as my physician for a long time.

I spent too much money and time with this doctor who did not fix the problem. First: he would not listen to me. Second: he either chose not to diagnose the problem from the CAT scan or he didn't know how to. Third: He caused me more pain than when I went to see him in the first place. Here's a clue any foot drop patient needs to go straight to surgery not masking pain with shots in the wrong place! The whole place is set up to make money instead of fixing your back.

Dr Zhu takes a conservative approach to managing the pain I have from degenerative disc disease. He has recommended non surgical procedures that my previous doctor did not. He is very deliberate in managing the cause of the pain not the symptom itself. While my condition is one that is managed, not cured, I have experienced 30% more relief since seeing Dr. Zhou with fewer less powerful drugs to manage the pain. I recommend highly
