I highly recommend
Dr. Matheny was my gyn for about 5 years and she was great! She’s easy to talk to and professional. I appreciated that she took the time to explain things until I understood, and entertained all my questions. The staff was always so friendly and I never had to wait long. I moved away about 2 years ago and I’m still trying out new doctors (and still thinking about the excellent care I received!)

Professional. Down to Earth. Caring.
Dr. Matheny has a calming presence and is great at taking the time to answer any question (even ones that you feel silly or dumb for asking like can I have cheese dip at the Mexican restaurant when pregnant). I’ve always felt like she truly cared about me as an individual. She is also a great surgeon and my C-section recovery was so easy that I’d easily choose another one if the need arose. One of the best things about her and her practice is that if you are her patient, you will ACTUALLY SEE HER for every visit. Some area practices have nurse practitioners who do most of the visits, but I have only ever seen Dr. Matheny for all of my prenatal and postnatal care. I truly love that about her practice because when it came time to change delivery methods suddenly, my husband and I trusted her because I had been around her for every visit. Her office staff is wonderful and her main nurse Cathy is awesome! They always did their best to accommodate my difficult schedule.

My gynecologist had moved to a new area then retired. Needed to find a new one and chose Dr. Matheny. Glad I did. She was friendly, knowledgeable, listened to me, made me feel comfortable and explained everything very well. Staff were wonderful as well. Would recommend to anyone in need.

I love Dr. Matheny! She is very personable and skilled in her field. I have had nightmare experiences at other OBGYNs in WV so thank God I found her 3.5 years ago! She did my partial hysterectomy and knowing I was under her care was a huge relief. I even recommended her to my little sister who is now one of her patients. So Great Dr and great office staff!

I have received excellent care from Dr. Matheny and her staff. She takes the time to talk to you and answer questions. She explains things so that I can understand and has an overall good and approachable demeanor. Highly recommend her for OBGYN care.
