Not always very careful
She is personable and was willing to explain why, as in a previous medical career, as a Pediatrician, she received disciplinary action (she says that she related better to the kids than to their parents, apparently) which is why she switched her practice to ophthalmology. She recommended cataract surgery but took faulty measurements before/during the procedure actually making the outcome worse, necessitating that a 2nd surgery and lens replacement take place. However, during the 2nd surgery she ended up scratching the cornea, a very painful setback that took some time to heal. She wanted to 'do the other eye as well'. We said 'no, thank you...'

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Fleishman. She overbooks and I waited in a very crowded area for 2.5 hours to see her. When I finally got to see her, she yelled at me for asking her to test my vision, even though my main reason for being there was for a problem related to my retinas. She accused me of wasting her time! When she saw this issue in the exam, she then tried to sell me surgery, even though she is not a retina specialist and she does not perform many of these surgeries. The whole day was lost. She wasted my time. She also charges $50 out of pocket for a prescription. SCAM

After coming in for a prescription check-up, Doctor Fleishman diagnosed me with "Severe dry eye" and suggested "Silicone Punctual plugs", to which I was very openly not interested in and very much opposed to. I stated this several times. She went on to suggest "Dissolving Collagen plugs" to which after initial hesitation, I agreed. Solely on the fact that they were "Dissolving Collagen plugs". After having the "Dissolving collagen plugs" put in place I went home to barely slept through the night due to high discomfort and woke up to an extremely irritated right eye. I rushed back to her office the next business day, and after an hour of trying to get a hold of Dr. Fleishman she confessed to me that she'd actually gone ahead and inserted a silicone punctual plug on the right eye without my knowledge or consent. Turns out the reason my eye had been scraped every time I blinked and was so irritated on the left side of my right eye was due to the silicone punctual plug that was sticking ou

Dr. Fleishman did a cataract surgery on me that has long since proven that I didn't need and as she said that the cataracts in both my eyes were equal and I don't have any in the right eye ( Per a very good physician that was appalled that surgery was done on me) and then 2 more doctors stating that there isn't a cataract in my right eye. The vision in my left eye is basically ghosting and I am legally blind in it after her surgery. She takes no responsibility. Stay away

After suing Dr. Fleishman in NYS court to recoup my out of pocket expenses due to two failed routine cataract related surgeries she performed on my same eye, my faith in doctors and the legal system has dwindled away. Her first surgery resulted in lost of sight. Her second surgery to my same eye resulted in ghosting vision for one year until I went to another MD. Her lawyer's defense was that I signed the consent to have the surgery. I found Fleishman untruthful, egocentric & Avaricious.

I came to dr. Fleishman with a problem that I have had for ages (severe headaches/migraines) My previous doctors had told me they could do nothing and that I should just learn to deal with the pain - even if it was seriously interfering with my life/work/ability to function normally. Doctor Fleishman took a long time to talk to me, and offered to test a treatment. Within a week my migraines were gone!! Needles to say, has been a life changer for me. I can only recommend dr. Fleishman!
