Loved her!
Dr. Brown provided my surgery on my hands. She is a very no nonsense, down to earth, funny and entertaining lady. I know that sounds funny about a doctor but it’s true. I loved her demeanor, and her brutally honest answers. Still, she came across as very caring! She did a fantastic job on my hands, and I am happy to this day. She took the time to call me and check on my hands later in the week. How many doctors really do that?!

Dr. Jessica Cohen-Brown
She is very kind and knowledgeable. Accurate diagnosis. Surgery went very well and my recovery was easy and quick. She met with me upon arrival and explained what I need to do for recovery and on the way to the operating room which was very comforting. I highly recommend Dr. Brown.

I went to Dr. Brown for my persistent & worsening trigger finger. I was a bit reluctant based on her overall rating, until I read that many negative reviews were simply critical of her manners. My focus was on her expertise. I was very pleased to find that D. Brown was quite cordial and professional, albeit very business-like without much idle chit-chat. She did, however, patiently and thoroughly answer my questions & provided treatment options, which led me to proceed with trigger finger release surgery. During the surgery my experience was the same; cordial, professional, but serious. She explained what was happening, what she was finding with regard to the condition of the affected tendon, etc., and even asked if I wanted to see what she was doing (declined). The incision has healed very well and I'm thankful for the method she used for the sutures so as to reduce scarring on my palm. There is more healing to go, but as of now I would go back to Dr. Brown without hesitation.

Dr. Brown operated on my broken finger in an operation she estimated to take 45 minutes and it took 3.5 hours. The result was a complete disaster and I had five total operations that were not successful. After the first two I went to another orthopedic hand surgeon and he was unable to repair the damage done. NEVER use her as a surgeon!

Dr. Cohen-Brown's treatment was good. However her back-office staff did not follow through on their promise to have my medication cost reimbursed by the pharmaceutical manufacturer. I worked with them for 6-months to no avail. As a result, I am out-of-pocket over $1100. My advice is to never pay Dr. Cohen-brown or Sansum Clinic for services in advance. Wait for them to process a claim through your insurance. Or better yet, go to another facility with better ethics.

My husband was sent to Dr. Brown for his Dupuytrens Constricture and I went along because quite frankly I was concerned after reading her reviews. Dr. Brown did not even acknowledge my presence in the room either by looking at me or speaking to me. She totally ignored the fact that I was there. I have never before been ignored in such a demeaning way. We left and never went back.

horrible!!- will not be going back to her for anything let alone surgery on my hand. she is completely unfriendly, impatient, and less than zero bedside manner. I spent more money to get a second opinion and have my wrist reset by another Dr. who at least cleaned off my hand before casting it, and didn't complain that this was a natural request.

This woman is just plain mean. I was traumatized by my experience when she surgery on my hand. I've had hand surgery before and after by other physicians with no problems.

Outstanding hand surgeon! Serious, yet personable and fun! Dr. Brown just removed a gnarly thrombosis from my index finger, stitched me up, and sent me on my way! Santa Barbara lucky to have such a great surgeon, in my opinion!

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone. Her bedside manner is poor(awful), she doesn't listen and she repeats the information you just gave her incorrectly. She spoke to me as if I were an idiot after I explained to her several times about the pain I was experiencing in my arm. I had never left a doctor's office pissed off until I met her. I hear she is a good surgeon but because I don't trust her, I would NEVER recommend her. One visit was more than sufficient!

She is an excellent surgeon, I and a number of my friends have been treated by her. She is a tiny bit brusque, but always will answer a question with a smart simple explanation. Like all Sansum offices, booking her is always difficult.
