I am not understanding these reviews. I almost didnt go to Dr. Chan but some of my other Mission MD's told me to absolutely try her. I am so happy I listened to them. My first tele health appointment went almost 30 min. Great follow-up if you can use the Providence portal. She listened to my concerns trying multiple tests to absolutely confirm odd results. Empathetic but firm. I dont want a doc who tells me what I want to hear, I want someone who will tell me whats going to happen.

saw dr.chan a handful of times and gave her many chances before finally calling it quits. she's the type of doctor who makes you feel like your questions are stupid and not worth her time. for example, I have questions around if recent weight gain would be related to my new diagnosis, and she says 'that's not in my domain, if you have weight concerns, I can refer you to a nutritionist'. I ask if mental health symptoms would be related to my new diagnosis, and she says 'again, that's not in my domain, if you have mental health concerns, I can refer you to a psychologist'.generally her attitude was just weird, impersonal, and dismissive.

She was the physician on call when I needed an urgent refill of medication. She reprimanded me that I should not call after office hours unless it is emergency. If it is emergency are we not supposed to call 911 then? Also, taking my medication is a necessity for a diabetic patient like me. Why does she even bother to be on call if she does not want to take care of the needs of the patient? No empathy at all.

Speaking directly to her is almost impossible. All communication is done through her PA or office staff. My advice is to avoid this office at all costs. They misdiagnose and misprrscribe without recourse. Awful in every way.

Would never recommend!!! My 20 yr daughter was referred to her by 2 drs. for very long term period issues (heavy bleeding and 9 month long periods) along with other health issues. Dr Chan told my daughter to lose weight and tried to prescribe her weekly prescription weight loss injections….”You know the one all the celebrities are using”. My daughter is only slightly overweight for the last few years which doesn’t explain the ongoing menstrual issues for 9 years. Dr Chan didn’t ask any medical history questions or ask what other symptoms she had. She was uncaring, unwilling to help to get to the bottom of my daughters issues and very dismissive. We felt very rushed. Unless you have an easy diagnosis but even bother.

As one female to another I expected a little more. I had valid concerns and I feel she brushes them off quickly. I asked for specific blood work and she insisted I didn’t need them. ( what’s the harm in ordering them?) I had to get another physician to order them for me. I had a visit with her in the office. On a zoom. And spoke to her on the phone. And all three times I felt rushed she kept cutting me off and I am going to find a different doctor.
