Great Neurologist
Had my first visit with Dr. Taber and he was AMAZING. Dr Taber is very professional, knowledgeable and thorough. Dr. Taber was very patient and attentive as he spent nearly 2 hrs gaining an understanding of my symptoms, previous medical conditions, and medications as he took the time to review past medical records. Dr. Taber is easy to talk to and is a great listener. When Dr. Taber did his exam, he was gentle and explained the process step by step. After my exam, Dr. Taber went into great detail about his findings and he was very compassionate as he discussed treatment options. Dr. Taber provided excellent care and I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Taber at Rush now. Consider very negligent as I went there for help as long time problems with dizziness, vertigo and unsteady walking issues upon examination he is negligent as I told him twice that he is unable to exam and manipulate in anyway or touch my neck this is, retired otoneurologist. he did not listen and he proceeded with manipulating my neck on two tests and when a patient tells a Doctor NO then I believe he’s extremely negligent because the pain and the onset of discomfort as well as dizziness due to the fact that I have bulges in my disk and the neck, but he could not help himself and beyond that he wrote in the patient notes that I was not cooperative with the exam but the truth was if he listened to me, I was unable to lay down due to the severe lumbar pain I have from my disability and also laying down brings on extreme dizziness, so I was unable not unwilling, and he wrote that I was uncooperative for this procedure, but I did all his other tests because of course I want to find out what’s going on . I did not feel safe with him or trust him and consider him negligent. Maybe that is why he’s at many different hospitals and see my research that he was not consistently at one hospital. His bedside manner was the worst I’ve ever experienced and the way he talked to me was disrespectful. A patient that deals with the problems needs to be treated with extra Empathy and bedside manner and positive attitude which she could not employ any of those attributes.

Very thorough
I have had a mysterious illness for 20+years and have been told by countless neurologists that my issues were psychiatric in nature. Dr Taber took so much time to collect every issue I’ve had over the last 20 years and put the puzzle pieces together and gave me a diagnosis that makes so much sense. He then referred me to a partner who specializes in this disorder. He is a rare gem in the world of neurologists.

Thorough & informative, but not about my problem
My GP recommended I see Dr. Taber about an embarrassing male problem. I told him about what I was experiencing and the symptoms. He then started an examination that was thorough and appeared to be a full work-up of neurology of the whole body. During this, several times I brought the conversation back to the actual problem I was having, and Dr. Taber repeatedly said, "We'll get to that". Well, after quite a while (to his credit, he was generous with his time) he asked me to go with him to a walkway within the larger office to see how I walked. To my surprise, that appeared to be the end of the appointment, and he never had spent any time actually discussing or investigating that. I quietly asked a question or two, which was difficult given that we were now in a public space with people all around. But that was the end, and I left not really learning anything at all.

Dr Taber, in my experience, was a pro at pushing the envelope. All messages were followed up by his nurse or front desk. He did not take any conversation him self, he also requested that I come in to cover things that needed to be discussed and could have been discussed over the phone. Very disappointed in his dr/patient communication.

Easy to talk to, agreed with my self-diagnosis, and i left with prescriptions for two most popular abortives for my condition, and on a followup visit was suggested a preventive medication. No issues since.

Beware for IME or pension board reviews. Doc Taber bent the evidence to his narrative instead of providing an unbiased opinion on the matter. Ignored 100s of visits and opinions and instead selected a few anomalous comments to use as his support. You can do better Dr Taber. Shame on you.
