Meh
Not great but not horrible. He was nice to me, but (like most doctors, it seems), I didn't feel like we were a 'team,' trying to figure out why some of my blood results are coming back too high and too low. I got more of a sense he wanted to monitor me, then have me come back in 3-6 months, rather than that we had an actual 'plan.' I don't think the 'plan' should be to wait until I get symptomatic. That's not my plan, anyway.

He Ordered Testing Other Doctors Neglected
I have been a patient of Dr. Liu's for 1.5 years now. I appreciated that he ordered a test that he thought was important and my other doctors neglected. In reality, not one of my doctors is my quarterback but Dr. Liu has paid attention to the whole picture. I feel that Dr. Liu goes above and beyond for me and, in my experience, this has been rare.

10 minutes is all you get….no questions
Horrible experience with its this man. We always felt rushed and my wife and I think he blew it in terms of her diagnosis. He didn’t take her complaints seriously and blew off any testing. . She has changed oncologists, but we fear it is to late. He doesn’t answer questions well and doesn’t even let you finish your questions before cutting you off. He got mad about us seeking a second opinion and retorted with “I don’t need to write papers to get paid.” Oh yeah; horrible bed side manners.

This man gives me hope, is not snobby, has a dry sense of humor, answers my questions, gives me the time I need and is just a very nice human being.

Previous review continued. It seems to me that Drs. should be ok with second opinions if not encourage them. Another dr. apologized for Liu's angry response but I still had the surgery at Centegra (McHenry) and it was a disaster.
