Dr. Jerry Back, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Backs for several years and have always left my appointments satisfied that all of my concerns were heard and expertly addressed. I never feel rushed, I feel like Dr. Back listens without ever gaslighting me, addresses lifestyle factors related to my health, and discusses difficult topics such as having a written advance directive. My cardiologist knows of Dr. Back and is comfortable with Dr. Back managing my hypertension and cholesterol. Unlike other PCPs I have seen, Dr. Back does not immediately refer out to specialty care but has the knowledge, skills, and experience to manage more than just routine care. He will refer to specialty care as needed. He reads the reports from specialty care and ensures that there is continuity of care without duplication and that my overall health issues do not contraindicate treatment by specialty care. This is particularly important to me as an older adult with multiple providers.

Dr Back is extremely thorough and explains everything to you in detail. He always sets up a plan and a goal for your care. He does not rush his appointments because he really wants you to understand what he is proposing and why.

I have FINALLY found a doctor who is thorough, direct and takes the time to truly listen and understand my needs. Dr. Back's straight forward and honest approach may not be what appeals to all, but I soooo appreciate his candidness and honesty when dealing with my medical issues. His desire and concern to find solutions to a medical problem is amazing! I have never felt rushed and he took the time to clear up some discrepancies on my medical records caused by prior careless reporting of doctors that was hurting my quest for new insurance coverage. I cannot recommend him highly enough!!!

Dr Back is a doctor who always goes and beyond for my family's medical needs. His vast medical knowledge, kindness, caring, and compassion who dramatically improved our (my wife and I) quality of life.

My family doctor referred me to Dr. Back. She said he was good at difficult problems and very much cared about his patients. It is very true. I began seeing him maybe 8 years ago. I came to him with excruciating pain and had it for 25 years. Not one doctor in all that time would spend the time to investigate or offered any ideas. I did not want to go on. Dr. Back treated my pain and I knew that he cared. A few months ago Dr. Back sent me to a pain doctor that had an implant that could possibly help me. Dr. Arcell said there was a problem with my MRI and sent me to a neurosurgeon, Dr. Steichen. He said the pain that I had was from my neck. After surgery I was told it took decades for it to get so bad. Said it was like wet sand covering all my nerve roots. After 33 years of unbearable pain I finally understood where it was was coming from. I am already much better. Because of Dr. Back, at 72 can't wait to live the rest of my life. Thank You So Much, Dr. Back!!!!

Dr. Back and his support staff are the most amazing people you will ever meet. They go above and beyond to provide the best medical care. Dr. Back never rushes an appointment and listens to all of my concerns. I am so thankful for his care as he has helped me become a healthier version of myself thru his love and care! My husband and I have been going to Dr Back for years and we feel like he is family. He’s always taken such good of us and his staff as well. He told me on my very first visit with him years ago that I no longer have the job of worrying about my health, that that is his job from now on and he has kept his word on that. He has just the right protocol for your well being and when you leave, you are set with any referrals/appointments for specialists. During an appointment, he even took out his cell and called a referral for me. They also have a user-friendly portal system and have always answered my messages promptly. On top of all that, Dr. Back had a welcoming sense of humor!

Jerry is an incredible doctor. I've been seeing him for over a decade, and he is hands-down the best physician I've ever had. He explains things very well, and it's clear that he cares very much for his patients. Diabetes can be a crippling disease, but with Jerry's help, I can honestly say that my condition is so well-controlled that I don't even think about it as I go about my daily routine. Visits to his office are a genuine pleasure, as everyone is very friendly and caring, and they always have time to explain the answers to my questions so I fully understand things. I've recommended Jerry to several friends, and they've all been just as happy with him as I am.

He is VERY thorough and asks lots of questions; listened to our concerns and said don't worry I gotcha...I will be there for you guys and we will do it together. Dr. Back has a great bedside manner; he treated us with great respect and did not talk over us or use a lot of fancy medical terminology. He talked to us like we had known each other forever. That is what you want in a doctor..someone you can feel comfortable with. Dr. Back spent more time with us than any other doctor has. He wanted to get to know us and that meant a lot. In today's world doctors don't spend a lot of time with you...just in and out and don't ask lots of questions..Dr. Back DID!!! So thank you Dr. Back! You will ALWAYS have us as patients. I thought I loved my previous doctor, but when he went concierge and I found myself at Dr Back’s practice it was clear I was where I needed to be. He spends the time needed with his patients to fully understand their issues and concerns and find the right solutions - not just prescribe the latest fad pill and move on. And then he checks up and adjusts and ensures it’s right too. He knows his stuff, knows when (and to who) to refer you when he doesn’t, and is just a great guy to deal with.

Dr. Jerry Back has been my doctor for nearly ten years and I have never had a better physician ever in my life. For example he has seen me on his day off because he truly cares about his patient. During the Covid epidemic he saw me within minutes on a Zoom call, and his quick help and knowledge of the situation kept me out of the hospital.
