Never again
I was referred to Reno ENT in November 2024 by Renown Urgent Care where I was seen for a sinus infection that developed into an ear infection a week later. After being seen the second time at Renown, I was given another round of antibiotics and sent home. Later that evening my eardrum ruptured. Blood and pus pouring out of my ear, which continued draining for another 3 days. Went completely deaf in that ear for weeks. In February I'm seen at Reno ENT for a Renown referred follow up. Staff was great, doctor not so much. From the moment he entered the room he was rude, argumentative and condescending. Wanted to know why I was there. Practically sneered at me. His medical advice? Forget that it even happened. I was definitely made to feel like I was his biggest waste of time that day. This should not be a proud moment for doctor who lists missionary work on is Reno ENT profile. If I ever treated a client that way, my decades long career as a financial services professional would be over.

Rude and Does not Care
Worst doctor visit I have had in my life when it comes to not caring about a patient. Dr. Lough walked in and said why you coming here because of dizziness could be anything you should see your primary. I informed him my primary was the one who recommended me to him. He basically did not even check anything out and said you should go back to primary. I had gone through physical therapy and seen my primary. I was getting dizziness and passed out and he did not care to even do a minor assessment. I was amazed $100 copay and he did nothing. They say some doctors do not have bed side manor well this doctor just does not care at all about his patients. With Renown I have had amazing doctors this is the first doctor I have had that just should not be practicing or should be working in a lab because he does not care about people.

Great Doctor
Dr Lough diagnosed my deviated septum that I’d had for decades and no other doctor had ever mentioned. He performed a repair on my septum and turbinates. Surgery was great. He was great in post-op and recovery. I highly recommend.

Good but Blunt
Did not do any sugarcoating which was probably best in the long run as the procedure and recovery was extremely painful. I will say he did an excellent job at the surgical site compared to what I have seen in some others who had received the same procedure elsewhere.

Staff is completely incompetent.
Staff does not review any facts about your situation until just before visit and then tells you why they can’t help yet. I was so frustrated I gave up. Then it’s always another 3 months for an appointment. Good luck with your heath issue.

ENT follow-up
Very professional staff. Dr. Lough I’ve been seeing for years. He is professional and extremely knowledgeable and personal. He has a great professional staff that bring smiles to the workplace. Doctor has done ear and bose surgery and the follow up visits are quick and you are seen at or very close to your scheduled time.

Disrespectful
I have been concerned for my 9 year olds sinus issues for years. Once we finally got into a doctor I was happy to finally get some answers but Dr Lough was super rude when I’d asked him questions because I was curious about what his diagnose for her was. On top of that he said she needed a surgery which she was extremely scared about. He didn’t care how nervous she was he practically told us she HAD to do it. He made me feel so uncomfortable and disrespected I called and changed to Dr Garrett before her surgery date, she told us we didn’t need to worry because she did NOT need that surgery unless her symptoms got really bad. That made us feel better but were even more upset with Dr Lough after he made me feel like an idiot asking lots of questions about MY child!!!

Fantastic Doctor!
Excellent Post and Pre-Op, Dr. Lough spoke with me with dignity and grace, and assured me of my recovery from a (Warthins) Tumor being removed from my neck, yes you read that right, a Tumor from my neck, this Doctor is my Superman, and hopefully could be your' s someday if you are in need of his expertise. I trust this man with every being in my body, explained everything to a T, left no stone unturned with my procedure. I've read a few negatives on this site, for the life of me can't believe it, not my experience at all. Dr. Lough is great at what he does.

As an owner of a healthcare facility, I try to understand that providers are people, too, and have their own personality and style of care. Dr. Lough tends more towards the condescending and unhelpful, which is hard to stomach when you are worried about your health and looking for assistance. Bizarre personal jabs, suggesting that I don't remember my own health history, suggesting that I was trying to secure an imaging referral by writing my history in such a way that would warrant a CT scan, and recommendations that 'may or may not make a difference' was the best care that he could provide to me. I would not trust the care of our patients to this physician.

Dr Lough did not seem concerned that I have had recurring sinusitis for several years. He just kept giving me a very strong antibiotic with negative side effects. I pushed for surgery and his response afterwards, “it was worse than I thought and I wish I could have done more”. He never had the infection cultured and I still have the infection and he doesn’t seem to care that I am constantly sick. His staff is condescending and rude. I found a new ent that is culturing the infection to help me.

Dr. Lough was condescending and sarcastic. He acted like he didn't read any of the forms I filled in concerning my health and the reason for being in his office. And, quite frankly, acted like he was wasting his time. I wish I had read these reviews before accepting the referral to him.

1 star because I can't give NO STARS!!! Never have I ever been so disrespected by a doctor! I drove 5 hrs total to see a specialist, had to take a day off work and transportation costs to be sorely disappointed and poorly treated. He was disrespectful, demeaning, condescending, sarcastic and rude! Better guessing and concern from the internet. After seeing I was upset he offered to scope my throat and "see if there is something MAGICALLY separating your throat"!! Poor office privacy as well.
