Poor communication and testing

I had a zoom appointment with Dr. Schrek and she could barely give me 2 minutes. We went over lab results and the whole thing felt rushed. She agreed to send them for further testing (which was great and showed infection) but didn’t ask for a culture analysis… so I was given an antibiotic. The first antibiotic prescribed was a type I don’t normally do well with so I asked that she call me back… she didn’t and just had her assistant call me. I wanted to actually ask the doctor some questions! Frustrating! I was at urgent care a few days later because I felt the antibiotic prescribed wasn’t working well and I was getting worried. The doctor at UC was surprised that I was given an antibiotic without her specifically knowing what pathogen was causing the infection so he ordered further testing. I’m annoyed that my appointment was so short, that proper testing wasn’t done, and I was prescribed something random. My appointment with her was not thorough and I felt like I was an annoyance.

Dr. Schreck would be any patient's ideal Primary Care Physician. She explains things clearly, listens carefully, takes time to answer questions, is kind and greets you with a smile. Her experience and genuine care for the patient's welfare is consistent and evident. My husband is a physician and I am a RN and we could not be happier calling her "Our Family Doctor". Thank you Dr. Schreck for your care!!!

Really like Dr. Schreck, do not care at all of the staff or scheduling policy. Been blown off by her disinterested and condescending staff more than once because of a full schedule. I have asthma and because of this being able to be seen when I'm actually sick is very important. I've never experienced anything like this before. I have a professional healthcare background an know how patients should be treated. Now calling around for a new doctor while ill. I suggest you pass on this office.

She is so understanding - you can tell she's a mother, and a caring one at that. She's knowledgable and thorough. Never do I walk out of her office unsure about a diagnosis or prescription like I have with previous physicians. She even went out of her way to find a psychiatrist that is covered by my insurance. Genuine, and incredibly thoughtful. I am so pleased with her.
