Dr. Jennifer Gilligan, MD, is hands down one of the best doctors I’ve ever worked with. I honestly can’t comprehend how anyone could leave her a negative review. She embodies everything a good doctor should be: – She listens carefully and without judgment – She’s knowledgeable, thorough, and up-to-date on current medical practices – She explains things clearly and takes time to answer questions – She’s compassionate, patient, and genuinely cares about her patients – She’s responsive and communicative, making follow-ups and next steps clear – She doesn’t rush appointments and makes you feel like your concerns matter Dr. Gilligan has a calming, confident presence that immediately puts you at ease. It’s clear that she not only has medical expertise but also deep empathy and emotional intelligence—qualities that make a huge difference in healthcare. I feel incredibly fortunate to have her as my doctor.

Great doctor!
Dr. Gilligan was very attentive and answered all my questions. She has been adjusting my thyroid medication and I am feeling better than ever. She has also made time to see my daughter in her busy schedule, who is experiencing thyroid issues. I trust her completely and highly recommend. We do not live near her office and it is definitely worth the drive.

Avoid at all costs
I was referred to Dr. Gilligan by my OBGYN for assistance managing my insulin resistant PCOS - after waiting 7 months, yes, 7 months, for an appointment, Dr. Gilligan was hands down the most unprofessional, rude, uncaring, and horrible provider I've ever had the displeasure of meeting with. From using the actual phrase 'Carb N-zi' (in 2024? girl, are you for real?!!) to being condescending about my lived experiences and neglecting to address my main points of concern, she was the worst provider I've ever seen and Piedmont should be ashamed to have her on staff. Save your time, save your money, and save your mental health - avoid Jennifer at all costs.

Very satisfied with Dr. Gilligan
I have been seeing Dr. Gilligan for several years for a history of Thyroid cancer. I have been VERY pleased with her. She is very prompt and no nonsense. She always returns emails through my chart in a timely manner. And I have never had any issues with the staff at this office either. From the front desk, medical assistants, lab techs and all, I have been treated professionally.

Terrible staff, great doctor
The lady at the front desk was extremely rude. This isn't the first time she has treated me this way and I saw her treating the patient after me the same way while I was in the waiting room. I mentioned this to Dr. Gilligan on more than one occasion and it doesn't appear anything has changed. The Dr. has treated me well and I feel I am improving, but I am going to try and find where else I can go because the frontdesk just ruins my day everytime I have an appointment. I dread going in and always hope I get the other lady who seems to be a little nicer.

Dr. Gilligan is AWESOME! She is a kind, gracious, caring, medical professional. I am so fortunate to live in Atlanta; have access to physicians who have such excellent standards. Dr Gilligan has been my Endrocronoligst for years, I always find her engaged, personable and committed to serving me in the best capacity possible. I highly recommend Dr Gilligan.

I have been seeing Dr. Gilligan for several years due to a history of thyroid cancer. She has always been open to listening to what I have to say, knowledgeable regarding thyroid cancer, and quick to respond if I ever send an e-mail with questions/concerns. I do not feel rushed and leave the visit feeling like I was heard with a good plan for the next 6 months.

I could not be happier with Dr. Jennifer Gilligan. I have had DT2 since 2008. My PCP did what he could but I've not always been the most compliant patient. He finally decided I needed the services of an endocrinologist and referred me to Dr. Gilligan. COVID-19 pushed my appointment out but I finally got in to see her yesterday. I was a bundle of nerves, but Tiffany at the front desk calmed me down immediately. When I finally met Dr. Gilligan, it was like a dream come true. I felt like I was talking to a friend! She doesn't just treat the condition, she treats you holistically - body, mind, soul and spirit. She was amazing. I wish I had started seeing her sooner. She went over my medications, made a change or two, and answered all of my questions. She did not rush through the appointment at all. I felt so cared for. I've already booked with her in three months. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who wants a medical professional who *listens* to you and works with you. I was so happy I cri

Will not return to see Dr Gilligan after 1 visit. She has quite an attitude. Went to see her regarding my diabetes. Everything I said that I eat, she would reply "Wrong" . My first item was vegetables, green beans, salads, tomatoes, etc. small amount of meat. "Wrong". Then gave me a sheet showing good and better. Milk shake was on both lists. Could not believe my eyes. NO THANK YOU....... WILL FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR without a smart-elecky attitude!

I went to this doctor because I read good reviews about her, from the moment she came in the room she was in a "mood" and hardly listened to what I had to say and talked down to me the entire time. I never felt as belittled in my life as I have with her - she made it seem it was my fault I had thyroid issues, she proceeded to discuss her "obese coworkers" and how its a "choice" that they are the way they are because of how much they eat - we discussed my mother being diagnosed with diabetes earlier this year, she pretty much said I will be getting it too instead of that I might. I left her office in tears - will never be going back again. She is a very lifestyle and health conscious person and highly looks down on anyone that is not - instead of helping others get there she berates them for not being there. Her front desk girl is just as rude as she is - I can't believe I paid to be talked down to like this and leave in tears. I highly suggest to anyone thiking of going to her STAY AWA

NEW PATIENT REVIEW After doing my research Dr. Gilligan seemed like a great doctor to book an appointment with. After booking the earliest appointment (2 1/2 months) everything seemed to go smoothly. I accidentally went to the wrong location and quickly got my self to the right location, I called to verify I was at the right location and told them I would be up as soon as I found a parking spot. I’m not sure if she works at multiple locations but this was in Buckhead and it was a true nightmare

The worst experience I have ever had with any doctor of any kind. Frankly, so bad that I've found it hard to trust any doctor since she misdiagnosed me as having a very serious illness. I worried so much and it turned out to be for nothing. I feel that doctors who make these kinds of mistakes should have their license revoked and never be allowed to practice again. But they go on making mistakes. If she diagnoses you with anything serious, remember that working at Piedmont is Gilligan's first pe
