From Patient
I received a Colonoscopy from Dr. Williams on November 20, 2024. He was very professional and I had zero complications. His nurses were prompt, efficient, and friendly. Their names were kristen and Lindsey. I highly recommend Athens Gastroenterology Associates.

'threw us out'
Dr. Williams has been our gastro doctor for over 5 years. He has done one colonoscopy and two endos on my husband. My husband developed new symptoms. Dr. Williams recently decided my he needed a Partial Colonoscopy and thought it was Colitis. He performed this. It was not. When my husband's symptoms persisted, Dr. prescribed a very expensive antibiotic that he said 'would clear everything out'. It did not. When we asked what to do next he said 'try your diet'. We did and this also didn't help. It has been over 5 months now and we know NOTHING more than when he first went to see him. So, we feel like he just dismissed him or 'threw him out'. Very disappointed. If all you need is a colonoscopy, I guess he is your doctor, but anything else we do not recommend him.

He's the Best in The Business
My colon was on the brink of no return, I was in very bad shape when I first contacted Dr. Williams and didn't know what to do. He explained everything to me and what he was going to do to help get my colon back to living again. He examined me and because I had fell through the cracks my colon diagnosis before my visit was incorrect. He hooked me up with Dr. Delaurier (surgeon) and I spent 5 days in the hospital and my right side (colon) was removed and my appendix. If it wasn't for Dr. Williams and his knowledge, experience and dedication to his patients I don't know If I would have been around to tell you my story. If it's your colon he's the man (no joke). He is the BEST IN THE BUSINESS and I sincerely mean it. His great staff will put you at ease also. They are friendly, smart and everyone is on top of their game. BTW, Dr. Delaurier removed 17 polyps from my colon and I was regularly seeing a Gastro doctor before moving to Athens and finding Dr. Williams. I feel 110% better now!

Took little to no time listening to my concerns
Was in and out of our initial appointment in less than 10 minutes, took no notes on anything that I explained. When I came back for a follow up visit with one of his NPs, I was told none of the information I told her was in my chart.

Creates 'Comfort' in an Uncomfortable Procedure
Dr. Jeffrey Williams continues to provide outstanding medical services; we've been going to him for over 15 years. He and his team create a professional and even comfortable interaction during what is, for many (colonoscopy), a very difficult and uncomfortable procedure. We plan to continue to use him and his services for years to come.

Never.
I was given this Dr.'s name as a referral from my pcp and was told that they needed a referral and would review my charts prior to making the decision as to whether they would take me on as a new patient. I said back to April, so you guys are technically picking and choosing your new patient and she said, yes mam!!! This is so sad to me, I read the doctor reviews and was looking forward to having someone that new what they were doing but clearly that's not the case. I guess everything happens for a reason!

Excellent experience
This colonoscopy was one of the best experiences I have had - I know, colonoscopy and best experience don't always go together. However, Nikki, Rachel, Lisa, Ashley, Dana and Bekah, along with Dr. Williams, were beyond caring and professional. Thank you to all who I interacted with that day!

Wonderful Physician
I would highly recommend Dr. Williams. He and his staff were excellent and they were able to relieve my anxiety prior to my colonoscopy. The MiraLAX prep that Dr. Williams prescribed HAS NO BAD TASTE and I got a full nights uninterrupted sleep!! The prep and the procedure were much easier than I had expected. I will certainly use him again for my next screening colonoscopy.

I Recommend
I recently had a colonoscopy by Dr. Williams and the whole process went very smoothly. The check in was quick, I might’ve waited 10 minutes to be called back for the procedure. Everyone I interacted with introduced themselves and explained their role. The environment was comfortable and I was encouraged to ask questions if I had any. It was as pleasant as a colonoscopy could be. I even received a book recommendation (nothing to do with gastro) from a quick conversation with the CRNA. I’ll be back when the time comes.
