Dr. Jeffrey Van Lier Ribbink, MD

I had surgery with Dr. Van Lier Ribbink in Arizona. I was looking for the best doctor for my hyperparathyroidism. I found him, I was not looking for someone who had a great bedside manner, but the most experienced doctor. He did a great job and I would follow him anywhere. I am an RN and I investigated all doctors in Arizona, he was the best and everyone agreed. If you want someone to hold your hand look for someone else.

Hi.. I have a rare condition and Dr VLR is one of the few Doctors that understand... I have had 2 Major Endocrine surgeries done by him in 2012...fast forward 5yrs... he has cont to check on me and now we are actively dealing with my third... I would and have trusted him with my life, literally! He spends the needed time with each patient...he never rushes any patient out the door... if you have questions...ASK! he is great at explaining...EVERYTHING! He truly has the surgical experience!

He is such a great surgeon! Kept me cal and did a phenomenal job. I'm healing great and he's kept up on my progress. I would recommend him!

Run! Whacky. Unprofessional. Run! Run! Run!

Had a surgery planned on the 23rd for over a month for a thyroid removal (inconclusive biopsy) and had just seen his PA on the 16th telling me it was all a go. Got a call on the 20th from Linda the office manager telling me he no longer is practicing and had to cancer my surgery three days before. Unprofessional and feel slighted by the way it was handled. I don't recommend, as they then tried to find me a new surgeon in a day and someone they know! Rediculous. Find someone else!!!!

Dr. VLR is not direct with terminal patients and recommends extreme surgeries in casual ways that lead patients toward false hope. If your parent is stage four, please be DIRECT with VLR about presenting medical options to them. In fact, it might be best to have an oncological social worker, hospice provider, or oncologist present these decisions to your loved one instead. The end-of-life options VLR presents will include radical surgery and ICU, but he will make is seem rosy.

I had a Whipple 11/4/14 and I can only say that not only is Dr. VLR a gem but so is his PA, Katie and his office staff. He is tops in his field and when I mention his name anyone in the medical field only has positive comments. On occasion I had to wait to be seen later than scheduled, however, I never felt that I was rushed bc he was running late.

I ended up with a surprise of thyroid cancer him and his staff reaasured me was by my side thru the surgical removing of thyroid parathyroid and lymph nodes wasn't expecting all of this but He kept me informed and reasonably calm for me excellent surgeon thank you Dr
