Waste of Time
A very pleasant guy. He promised to get to the bottom of my illness. After initial test results came back, he lost all interest. (He literally walked backwards out of the room, saying, "You're perfectly fine! Good luck", as I tried to show him the abnormal parts of my MRI - it was like a scene from a cartoon or comedy show.)

I did not have a visit with Dr. Thorton and have never been a patient of his. However, he happened to be the doctor on-call when I needed help for my husband. It was a Sunday night (KC Chiefs were in the playoffs) and my husband was traveling for work. My husband accidentally placed his prescription medication in his checked luggage—which did not arrive at the destination airport my husband was flying to. Dr. Thorton was very helpful and understanding of our situation. He was not bothered or annoyed that he got called on a Sunday night, instead he was kind, respectful, and compassionate (even though my husband was not even his patient). This encounter alone speaks volumes of his bedside manner and quality of patient care. Thank you for your help, Dr. Thorton!

For three years I searched for a doctor who could help me with a nerve pain in my upper back. No one could tell me what it was. On my first visit, Dr. Thornton told me that no matter what we would find out what the pain was and fix it. He identified the problem in my first visit ...... periferal neuropathy. It is an unusual first place to experience diabet neuropathy. He prescribed the right drug and the pain was gone within two weeks. It has never returned. Dr. Thornton is kind and caring.

I started going to Dr. Thornton in 2016. At the time he was great. His nurse was great and then he got a new nurse named Jamie. She’s rude, won’t return calls and was that way for over a year. Some of his staff including his office manager is horrible. I was told by Dr. Thornton himself, he’s only a small town doctor. After not agreeing with his worthless staff, I was told he could no longer help me. Patient care is not a priority for him. It’s too bad because I truly believed in him.

He leaves no stone unturned! Dr. Thornton has worked hard keeping my daughters MS under control for several years. He has been patient and supportive while our family has slowly been learning all the things that come with having a child that has grown into an adult with MS. SL

Dr. Thornton is treating my mother's Alzheimers and we highly recommend him. He cares for his patients, listens to them and their caregiver, then suggests treatment. Recently he supported Mom's decision to discontinue one of the drugs due to a side effect and suggested a different drug, supported her choice to include natural options in her treatment plan, and supported her caregiver (me) by completing FLMA paperwork to protect my employment. We are grateful for and blessed by Dr. Thornton.

Pleasant enough bedside manner for issues other than medical issues. Expect a wait of in excess of 1 hour each and every visit. In and Out Burgers has nothing on the speed the doctor works a patient. End of the visit I walked out the door with zero questions answered and and prescriptions in hand. I have never experienced a specialist with an emphasis on drugs and drugs alone for a chronic condition.

I love the Doc but was saddened to hear his nurse Debbie had retired. My first run in with the new nurse did not go well. Called for refills before I went out of town and didn't realize I was refilling my anxiety/depression meds to early and she totally made me feel like a drug addict. Really hurt my feelings! I miss Debbie! :(

Dr. Thornton's office was able to get my significant other scheduled right away. He takes his time with patients and explains everything thoroughly. With us living so far away, with our emergency situations Dr. Thornton provided a 24 hr number to contact him. He makes himself available to care for his patients and to ease family concerns. I would definitely recommend him to everyone in need of a neurologist.

I never made it to experience the actual Doctor. His office staff was SO poor I looked for someone else in the area. I called twice. The first time was rudely told I needed to contact my former Neuro. in Texas to submit a referral or I would not be seen. I get the referral sent and wasn't called back for an appointment after a week and a half. I have to call their office back to check status and the staff who answers is completely rude AGAIN! I will not be recommending this office to others.
