Only person who would give a name to the cause of my unbearable pain. & tried facing it. Iit worked. Pain was constant and clothes hurt, skin to Skin jhurt. I could not function, because everything hurt.

Seek a second opinion, stat.

The doctor appears and happy go lucky, but he's not engaged with the patient. He talks to the nurses, but isn’t interested in the patient and in a race to get out of the room. The nurse wouldn’t honor the price of treatment quoted by the doctor and told me the doctor doesn’t know his own price. She also pushed a very expensive OTC cream that was at odds with my skin condition. The doctor exercised really bad form by exclaiming very loudly “What’s that?” regarding a flat scar I had on my neck that I was self-conscious of. The staff also consistently looked at and talked to me like I was from another planet. After a series of visits, the final straw came when they told me I would have to drive the 50 minutes trip to get a new consultation for laser treatment and then have to drive back again another day for the procedure. I had been having laser treatment in my entire face for rosacea, and they wanted to book multiple appointments for a request to only do my nose, which is part of my face and was done previously. I told them I’d go somewhere else and hung up.

6/29..Just went in this week and have always been satisfied. Everything went well this time too except that the technicians and staff were NOT wearing masks. We are in the middle of a major pandemic and I was alarmed. The doctors and PAs were wearing them but no one else.

Found out office staff are not required to wear masks (optional, not mandatory), so I will not be scheduling an appointment until Dr. Sassmannshausen takes the ongoing threat of COVID-19 more seriously. Incidentally, FW Derm requires masks and escorts patients to the exam rooms immediately after check-in.

I had been going to them for over 10 years and never missed an appointment. Unfortunately I did miss an appointment for botox in November and they charged me 700 dollars. I do not know how they estimated 700 dollars since they did not know what area or how much botox would be needed. No doubt it is my fault they lost revenue and could have used the time for someone else but 700 dollars is a shockingly high amount for a first missed appointment. I would never recommend them.

My daughter needed to be treated for a spreading rash. At the time my insurance was catastrophic coverage, so I was going to have to pay $300 upfront. That was not in my budget. To avoid a canceled appt, he offered to meet with us for $60. He prescribed a topical medication that cost $362 after already knowing I couldn't afford a $300 appointment. I will never go to this office again. $60 was more important than a returning patient. Fort Wayne Dermatology is awesome!

Had one small procedure done by this doctor and was surprised at how impersonal and rushed he was. He came in room while nurses were just beginning to prep me and jumped straight into procedure. Even the nurses seemed taken aback. He was out the door just as quickly. I would never have another procedure done with him. Regular appointments were usually more friendly and inviting. I feel confident in his treatment for my children's skin issues and he has a good personality for them.

Dr. Sass is such a conscientious doc. He is kind, humorous, and extremely professional/competent. I have very sensitive skin and suffer from eczema. Thank you, Amy

Had terrible approach with my daughter who needed to had a lesion removed. Would not recommend this doctor for children.
