Doesn’t care!
I used to be Dr. Matthew’s patient. On my first visit after being diagnosed with RA, he prescribed NCIDS. For the next two years, each time I went for blood work it showed I had liver and kidney issues. He never said anything about it to me. I actually caught the issue looking at my chart when the nurse was out of the room. I asked about it. She said, “hasn’t the doctor talked to you about this?” I said no. She sent me back in to see him. He said “no big deal!” On my next visit I had done some research on generic supplements. I found out that they were safe and effective, especially compared to NCIDS. I asked him about taking them rather than NCIDS. His reply was “if you take that crap, I will not have you as a patient!” So, I never went back to him. Those supplements have safely provided me with the relief I’ve needed over the years!

I've been a patient of Dr. Matthews for several years. I appreciate how Dr. M. listens to my concerns, analyzes lab results, and especially how he physically examines the joints that give me grief. Many doctors don't use their eyes and hands to determine a patient's condition anymore. At his clinic you can get all the lab tests, ultrasounds, x-rays, etc. that you need. There's no "You'll need to go _____ to get_____ and then get another appointment with me"! All of the nurse practitioners that have treated me have been knowledgeable, efficient and kind. The lab and testing professionals, the staff--including medical records--have been great to work with. Years ago I gave feedback on the old telephone system they had, and the office manager in Provo changed it to be patient friendly.

I have been a patient at Dr. Mathews' clinic for about 15 years. I like all the staff and I feel like I am treated well whenever I come in. My only complaint is that it's hard to get a prescription refill between visits. My favorite person there is Diane, who does the needle sticks so gently I can't hardly feel it. She is really good.

My visit with Dr. Matthews was very pleasant. I have been trying to find out what was wrong with me for over five years and he was able to make a diagnosis. I am looking forward to receiving treatment to treat the problem instead of just masking the problem. I find Dr. Mathews to be very knowledgeable and caring. His staff was very friendly. I did not have to wait long at all in the waiting room. If you are having problems I suggest you give him a try.

I have been a patient for one year. Having relocated to Utah I had to find a new rheumatologist. Dr Matthews, was a miracle for me. After being on steroids for 15 years I am healthier and stronger than I ever been. I take no steroids now and owe it to a doctor who took the time to go over my health history and had the knowledge to look at new approaches.

Dr. Mathews is awesome, he listens, he's very careful and gentle while doing his exam. He's very empathetic and kind. He's got a way of making you hopeful that he's there to help you. He told me he had a 90% success rate and he didn't want me to ruin it. It's nice to laugh and enjoy going to a Dr. When he bent over to put my shoes back on after examining my feet I almost cried. Such a humble man.

I appreciate coming to a doctors office where I am treated like a family. Your staff has always been friendly and called me by name. I love that you remember me and ask about my life and family. I never feel rushed, and if I have concerns I need to discuss, the staff has always taken the time to answer all of my questions. It makes managing my condition (RA) much easier.

After multiple doctors disregarding my pain, nausea, and various other symptoms for years, Dr. Mathews and staff went above and beyond to find the right diagnoses and the proper treatment to take. Dr. Mathews has a shinning attitude and listens to concerns when others do not. Due to my age, and false negatives, Dr. Mathews suggested another course of action; without the out box thinking, I would not be moving on to a more active and painless lifestyle.

My first two visits with Dr. Mathews were fabulous - the most thorough rheumatology assessments I have ever had. A treatment plan was decided upon and after that everything fell apart. Two months later, I still had NO medication. One prescription sent to the pharmacy was for Otezla, which is not used for RA. Kevzara was another prescription sent to the pharmacy which Dr. Mathews said he would never prescribe - that he doesn't like it. Can't trust him or his office at this point.
