Words cannot describe how amazing this man and his team are as well as The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. I had a rare carotid body tumor that was vascular not an easy surgery. However through the guidance and care of Nurse Jenny and Dr Janus’ team everything went smooth. These people are doing God’s work! My surgery needed being more complex than anticipated however the team was able to precisely handle everything and get the tumor safely out of my body stint my carotid artery and then graph it all done very successfully. Now to mention the aftercare is important because it was first class 5 star The May Clinic is many steps above all the hospitals I visited to compete this surgery. Even though it’s a 5 he drive from my house The Mayo will always be my #1 hospital moving forward. In my entire life dealing with hospitals I have never been at a hospital where everybody cares everybody has the right attitude they want to be there they want to help they want to make sure you heal!

I am extremely grateful for Dr. Janus. In my particular case, I was as much thankful for what he did not do, as what he did. After reviewing my case and examining me, he recommended not going forward with any parotid surgery at this time. His caution at choosing the right procedure at the right time showed a great deal of discernment on his part, and has ultimately been the correct decision as my parotid case in particular ultimately proved to best be managed conservatively without surgery. I realize that a cancer surgeon having to make the difficult decision not to move forward with surgery has got to be a very challenging decision for them, and I am so grateful that he spent the time and had the appropriate restraint to choose what was best for me. My life will always be brighter because of what Dr. Janus contributed. I thank him for his kind and caring eye in assessing my treatment.

Dr Janus removed a large, right-sided parotid tumor from a difficult position (tangled in my facial nerve and leaning against another nerve bundle; tucked behind the mastoid. The results were magnificent due to his tremendous knowledge, experience and state of the art facility and of course his tremendous team!!!

Dr. Janus has become an invaluable part of my mother’s care. He is informative, kind, and a brilliant surgeon. The great lengths to which he went to look out for her well-being were truly impressive. Can’t recommend strongly enough.

Dr. Janus was very thorough in his explaination of what my Larnyx cancer could entail. I felt very good about going into surgery knowing he would do whatever it took took to try and eradicate the cancer. I am alive today because of his expertise. Using the robotics he was able to save part of my larynx so I can still speak and did not have to have a trach. I have seen him several times since my surgery and he along with his team have been outstanding. I would recommend him to anyone who needs any type of throat surgery.

Dr. Janus saved my life. He is caring, knowledgeable, passionate, and skilled. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
