I just had a biopsy done and had the worse experience. This procedure could potentially cause infection but the fact that I was not given any antibiotics prior and after, made matters worse. On top of that, Hassell never called to check on me after the biopsy was done. It is very clear to me that the only reason for this biopsy was earning extra funds for the Dr. The size of the abnormality in my prostate could have been watched and biopsy (which caused me to have E-coli, Covid and almost die of sepsis shock) was potentially not needed. All I am suggesting to you is to get a second opinion before letting Hassell jump in to conclusion of a need for biopsy. I am switching to another urologists' who actually cares for his patients. I wish some one had told me this which would have eliminated having to inject a high dose of antibiotics for 14 days and taking steroids' for 12 days. None of that was necessary. I wish you the best and just stay away from this Dr.

Dr. Hassell listens carefully and designs treatment that promotes good health to prevent disease progression. He has been consistent in his approach for many years and coordinates care with other doctors well.

Me: retired senior citizen, intelligent, grad school education, living in a desirable independent living facility. Disgusting first (and last) visit, per referral from BS&W Heart Valve Clinic. Long lead time to obtain appointment, during which valuable treatment windows closed. Very long wait in office during which we were required to sit on seats in an inside hall directly in front of the patient restroom doors. We had an unavoidable view inside the patient restrooms each time the doors opened, and had to watch, listen, and smell as patients used the facilities. When we finally met with Dr Hassell, to arrange for a specific palliative urology procedure, he declined to provide care, palliative or otherwise, and seemed most interested in saying whatever would get us on on our way, so he could get to the catered fajita lunch that had been wheeled past us. IMHO, you would be well off to avoid this doctor and practice, particularly if you are over 60.

had severe UPJ obstruction. Dr. Hassell had to put in a kidney stent to release my urine from my renal pelvis. Dr. Hassell was very professional and caring. Dr. Hassell told me I would have to have robotic pyeloplasty and recommended Dr. Allen his partner. I had robotic pyeloplasty on 2/25/20, which went well. I would highly recommend North Dallas Urology Associates.

I just visited Dr Hassll's office a week ago as a new patient, My previous Doctor who is retired (he was my doctor for 15 years) and recommended me to this new group of doctors(North Dallas Urology) The Doctor seems fine to me however his office staffs are the worse in the country ( may be in the whole world) I have never experienced these kind of response from a Doctor's office in my whole life after several days of my visit still waiting for the prescription that I am taking for 10 years, I left several messages, pharmacy reached out to them twice and I requested my refills through their stupid portal 4 times and send email 2 twice no replay yet or medication refill yet) . You can only get a live person if you are booking an appointment. What a service!!!!!

First appt I waited an hour past my appt time and still wasn't called back, so I left. Second time I waited 40 minutes and was about to leave when I was finally called back. Front office staff was cold, non-smiling and unconcerned with my wait. Dr. Hassell was OK and to-the-point but used lots of medical jargon and abbreviations; I had to stop him at least 3 times to say "I don't know what that means; can you explain that?". They lost the record of my follow-up appt. I didn't make another.

I had been a patient of Dr Hassell for several years. I'm not sure if the problem is with him or his office. Pharmacy called 4 times and sent fax to office 3 x w no reply. I called Dr Hassell's nurse 3x and left messages w no replies to please call in refill or call me or let me know if I need to come in for labs. I then left 2 messages for the office manager w no response. Finally I faxed a request for the office manager to call me since no one in the Plano office answers the phone.
