Dr. Jeffrey Deppen, DO

I saw him today because I was concerned a hernia had come back but it thankfully had not. Deppen is an admirable doctor. He is clear, calm, relaxed and really and truly listens. I don't know many doctors in the Lansing area who are so attentive to patients. It's uplifting!

Outstanding from the initial contact, very professional and accommodating. An exceptional experience and so refreshing for a change!

Dr Deppen was great. Very rushed but personable and handled my questions and my issues with emergency surgery for my gallbladder. His staff at Eaton Rapids medical center is top notch his nurse is amazing! The only problem is only Monday appointments are available there. His office staff at the lansing office sucks! I called on a Tuesday for an emergency appointment for an allergic reaction and his staff refused to make me an appointment, told me to take Benadryl(hello I’m in the medical field myself don’t you think I tried that before bothering your office!) I had to wait 7 more days for my appointment at his Monday clinic. Absolutely miserable come my appointment my allergic reaction and itching should have never gotten this bad. His Lansing office should have seen me not talked over me and wrote me off. Absolutely disappointed I don’t even know if it would do any good to talk to the office manager.

Very disappointed with the follow through from Dr. Deppen. He ordered a CT scan for a possible hernia which was completed and never followed through. The CT showed cancer on a kidney as an incidental diagnosis and yet I never heard from him or his office. Ended up having a partial nephrectomy by another surgeon and still no follow-up other than a bill for an office visit.

I admitted myself to the ER when having very bad abdominal pain and found out I needed to have an emergency surgery to have my appendix removed, the ER doctor came in and told me I could potentially die which obviously sent me into a full blown meltdown, shortly after I met Dr. Deppen (who performed actual surgery) and his anesthesiologist he works with...needless to say 2 minutes into our conversation he had me so calm and ready for surgery and assured me this is something he does multiple times a day and that I would be just fine. Literally easiest operation I've ever had, also his follow up care was phenomenal.

So far so good. His staff has been efficient and fast at getting me seen and scheduled for surgery. And Dr. Deppen is clear, personable, and sympathetic. He answered all my questions.

Dr Deppen has taken care of me twice and both times I received excellent medical care. Also, the office staff are great!!

Confident, professional, and really did a fantastic job on my surgery!

I have worked in the OR with him and had him as my surgeon on 2 separate occasions and am hoping to see him again for another surgery soon! He is very approachable, takes his time to listen and has an awesome bedside matter. I would highly recommend Dr Deppen!!

Dr. Deppen is top notch He puts his patients at ease (and their family members) He went above and beyond to help me and my husband when an emergency medical situation struck. Follow through even after being discharged from the hospital ....great guy i highly recommend him

Dr Deppen took excellent care of my husband and took the time to listen to all his concerns.

Dr. Deppen is a great doctor. I had to have my gallbladder out and was suffering for a long time with symptoms. I finally was referred to him and he had me scheduled that day for surgery the following day. I'm so much better now. Thank you Dr. Deppen!

Dr.Deppen is amazing. He took great care of my husband when he was in need. Dr.Deppen answers any questions you have and explains in an easy to understand way. His staff is also super sweet and went out of their way to get my husband quality care.

Demonstrated questionable judgement on addressing a medical issue and appears to have gone against professional standards of Care that caused greater harm. Avoid at all costs, or it may cost you your life. It did my wife.

When I had to have my gallbladder removed, Dr. Deppen was great! His staff got me in quickly and my surgery was scheduled for the next day.

I did not see Dr Deppen. His office staff were rude and not helpful. They kept giving me the run around and they would not allow me to pick up my own records from their office. I'm not sure that is legal.
