Dr. Jeffrey Buyten, MD

Right off he wanted to talk about something other than what I was there for, was very condescending and basically told me the issue of not being about to swallow food was in my head. Luckily the swallow test showed otherwise. I withdrew as his patient and will not go back.

Little to no explanation of my condition and no help with things I could do to help alleviate symptoms. I found help on my own through the internet. It would not take anything more than a simple handout to help explain and provide information on actual things out in the world that can help symptoms. When getting with assistant to schedule an MRI she was not helpful at all and dismissive. Had to call the office after 6 weeks of not hearing ANYTHING regarding my results even thought the imaging center said 3-5 days. Will not return; will not recommend.

Had severe dry mouth and throat feeling like something was in throat! He was professional and caring during my exam. Also gave me positive talk about my well being! Come back soon for hearing test!

Dr performed facial biopsy without any assistance & no advance explanation of procedure It took 6 weeks to get the lab report back. Unacceptable!

Excellent to listen and makes sure you understand everything stated. Compassionate and caring! I have confidence in him.

Went in after finding lumps on the back of my tongue after having the constant feeling of something stuck in my throat and Dr Buyten took a less than 10 second mouth exam and said "everything looks fine, looks like a normal tongue." I asked him multiple times, "you think that my tongue is normal? You see nothing wrong?" I can see it in a mirror, buddy, and I've felt it for months, I know it's there, you just don't want to be bothered to do your job - or maybe you're always right and don't want to be proved wrong do you refuse to actually investigate the patient's claims. Anyway, I walked out of his office incredibly upset because he didn't listen. Got a new referral from my GP to see a different ENT from SSM instead of Norman regional. Sooooo much better. And guess what! I just had a biopsy on that thing on my "perfectly normal" tongue!! Thanks for absolutely nothing, Dr. Buyten and I sincerely hope you don't miss any more patient concerns! LISTEN TO THE PATIENT.

I have had two procedures with Dr. Buyten. He and his staff have all been nothing but extremely nice and knowledgeable. Couldn’t ask for a better place.

This was one of the worst office visits I have ever experienced in my life. I had called because of dizziness and pressure in my sinus and ears. Literally could not function. The office staff was superb! The doctor absolutely acted as if I was of no concern to him told him I had been to two previous doctor's and that I was told I had fluid behind my right ear. He basically told me they didn't know what they were doing and that he could comment on their education. I asked him.what he thought was causing all the pressure and light headedness. He basically told me I was making it all up.needless to say I didn't reschedule.

They were able to work to get me in at the very last minute since I had an upcoming trip the next week. The doctor was very patient answering all of my questions and ultimately advised me to wait a little longer and see if things cleared up before we did anything drastic rather than do a procedure that might not be necessary.

Very knowledgeable physician. Took the time to explain everything in detail and provided options for treatment.

Dr. Buyten is a very professionally caring individual. I like going to his practice not only for his expertise in diagnosing, but also for his very positive talks. He makes me feel I can trust my life with him. He reads CT scans himself, as an early double check, in addition to reports radiologists send him a few days later. Who does that? He has my utmost respect and trust which I do not give to others easily as a Ph.D. myself. I recommend him to anyone who wants very professional/humane care.

Dr. Buyten is treating me for cancer. He performed surgery, several office visits. Buyten is top notch. Great bedside manner. His staff is equally as awesome!

Very competent. I see him on a regular basis for chronic sinus issues & allergy treatment. He helped me find treatments that finally worked. He's also performed one surgery for me and did a great job. He speaks matter of factly but not rude.

I would never recommend this doctor to anyone ! He is a very rude, condescending person. I went to this doctor with a growth in my throat. From a biopsy he knew that it was cancer and instead of referring me to an oncologist immediately he did surgery to remove the growth. When I finally saw an oncologist she was amazed that he had removed the growth because she said that ANY dr. should have known that it would just grow back without chemo treatment. My growth was back in less than a week !
