Dr. Jefferson Vaughan, MD

Very unprofessional across the board. Regularly used dark humor jokes with patients around, to the point of terrifying an elderly woman just prior to her surgery. Provided extremely poor discharge instructions and kept saying 'everyone is different' whenever asked about specifics. No wound care instructions were provided at all. He provided no lifting restrictions despite every single hospital site online saying 4-6 weeks (btw these sites also offered detailed and matching discharge instructions). He only used technical jargon when explaining a complication, despite being asked multiple times to use language that a non-medical professional would understand. He repeated the same technical word that was just used when I asked him to explain what it meant. He was utterly dismissive during my follow-up to my ongoing pain... once more saying 'everyone is different.' We are new to the area and needed an appointment quickly. We were able to schedule and receive another referral quickly. The desk staff was very accomodating. Dr. Vaughn carefully evaluted my needs without rushing into a surgical decision, realizing more testing was needed. He provided the necessary referrals the same day. We felt confident in his expertise.

He was informative, kind and explained things clearly !!! Answered all questions and made us feel very comfortable about the surgery ahead!

He explained everything thoroughly so that I was completely comfortable with what the next step would be. I have complete confidence that Dr. Vaughan will take care of my medical needs.

I’ve been Dr. Vaughan’s patient since November 2021. He has been very informative and honest, has great bedside manner, and has been super supportive of my progress. His staff is also wonderful and caring. I highly recommend him as a bariatric surgeon. My surgery was done April 27, 2022, and by following his guidance I am happy to say I had no complications, was up and about just days after the surgery and have lost almost 100lbs. to date!
