Do not go to him for menopause treatment
Staff is terrible would never send my mri or ct orders to the surgical center. Dr never went over my results until I made an appointment and found out I had 4 cysts and a growth in hip. The imagining Dept felt so bad for me as I also suspected menopause and he never even checked my levels . The staff at Texas health hospital referred me to Christine walker they are not supposed to do that but they felt really badly for me and she immediately had labs run (right in office) and I start hormone replacement next week. He would also forget to check my cysts every 6 months I would have to schedule on own when I realized it had been 9 months. I had to take pic of CT order and send directly to Texas health imaging as his staff never sent me orders over even after the imagine Dept requested for me as well. Horrible experience he made me feel like he didn’t care about me at all along with his staff. I had asked him about hormone replacement what I could take over the counter as he wouldn’t help

First, he punctured my bladder while suturing at the close of my surgery. Next, he hastily discharged me with low sodium. Next, he ignored my daughter's call for help when I developed an altered state of mind two days after I was discharged. "You're topped out on narcotics. What do you want me to do?" His arrogance was unbearable and almost killed me. I learned that he was also negligent in the surgery he performed on my dentist's mother. Unbelievable that he remains licensed to cause harm.

I went in to see Dr. Mathews early this year for help with prolapse issues. I was diagnosed in 2011 by my gynecologist with a prolapsed bladder. At that time the issue was not bad so no action was taken. Nine years later I decided to get it checked out for possible remedies. Dr. Mathews found I had prolapsed bladder, rectum and uterus. We discussed treatment options; surgery being the only permanent solution. After all necessary testing surgery was scheduled at Medical City Plano. I cannot praise enough Dr. Mathews and also the surgical staff assisting at Medical City Hospital. Dr. Mathews was patient in explaining the procedure before and after the surgery and very thorough in explaining what to expect in the healing process. Major surgery is not fun, but the outcome well worth it to be functioning normally again. I am confident in Dr. Mathews in his experience and state of the art treatment.

I did,'t feel the Dr. Mathews was engaged in my treatment. His office was poorly run. I do not recommend him for anything involving Over Active Bladder or IC. After basic ideas/ treatments didn't work, he basically said "this is how it is." He would be walking to the door while I still had questions in my appointment. His main nurse, who has since been fired, was rude and disorganized. There was also over a week(s) that their website, main communication, was down and patients weren't told.

I've been very pleased with Dr. Mathews. He has been able to fix problems that other doctors could not or would not tackle. He is both a urologist and gynecologist, (urogynecologist), which I was needing badly. I would recommend him highly.

I have been a patient for many years and I trust him implicitly. He believes in prevention but he does not over recommend procedures. He helped me identify a condition that caused several miscarriages and now I have my daughter. Super easy delivery and no complications. Highly recommend him any time I get a chance.
