He was rushed and truly didn’t seem to have no concern or care. Don’t waste your time. Appointment was literally only 5 min if that.

Scoliosis
My daughter is having back pain. She was diagnosed with scoliosis. He stated that scoliosis doesn’t cause back pain. The comment is obscure and thoughtless. When we questioned how that’s possible he shrugged his shoulders and said “I don’t know what to tell you….scoliosis doesn’t cause back pain.” If he back back up his statements he shouldn’t be practicing. Waiving off back pain and insinuating it’s in her head doesn’t treat or alleviate what’s going on.

Strays from tough questions
This doc tried to make my daughter's shoulders look even in her x-ray which turned out to obviously be not true. I have taken both girls to him and neither time did we learn enough to feel good about our visit. Doc can be rude on some days.

I rarely review doctors. My daughter has an extra bone in her foot and I asked Dr. Axelrod to consider her for surgery because she'd been telling me that her foot still hurt. It's been years since I had a doctor answer all my questions in an unhurried manner. This ended up being essential because he realized the pain my daughter had was not stemming from the extra bone and likely the normal product of long walks. He saved us from an unnecessary surgery and even took more time to explain her condition in depth so we know what to expect in the future.

My daughter was treated by him for bilateral clubfoot. It was a horrible experience. Her cast kept slipping and we were constantly having to make the 2 hour drive to be recasted and charged each time. I finally asked him how many children he had seen who were as complex as her and he told me 1. We now see Dr. Dobbs in St. Louis. I would not recommend this physician for anyone’s child. He put my 3 month old through 2 tendonotomies (one of which was open) and needless pain because he was not experienced enough to do her casting correctly. Steer clear.

We also highly recommend Dr. Axelrod. My granddaughter's surgery went beautifully, and Dr. Axelrod took plenty of time with her and us, answering our questions and treating her with kindness and respect.

My son had the best experience undergoing a clavicle procedure with Dr. Axelrod earlier today. He was extremely patient, personable, and explained the procedure in great detail with pros and cons. My son already feels so much better. Thank you Doc. HIGHLY recommend.

Seemed to insinuate that it was not worth the bother to put a kid on the autism spectrum in a scoliosis brace. I'm thinking he wants to make more money on surgery.
