Dr. Jay Sloop, MD

The most altruistic, caring and knowledgeable doctor that I ever had the pleasure to meet at Feather River Hospital and his office. I am an Adventist Health RN, so I know first hand how he conducts himself with other professionals, patients and loved ones. I consider him to be my Guardian angel. He saved my life and gave me the courage and strength to move forward after the camp fire as well as finding the solutions to other health challenges. He really listens. Dr. Sloop has been my primary care physician for more than ten years. Their entire care team provides the best care and service anyone can receive; as a senior citizen I know, as I have seen numerous doctors here and in Eastern Europe over the years. There are but a handful that I can recall over the years that really impressed me, Dr. Sloop & Aaron Wun, FNP are among those few!....along with their intensively caring support staff, Kathi being on the top of the list.

I have had multiple Doctors in Chico over the past 25 years, none of them followed up on what they promised, and I always felt rushed as they were going from one patient to another. Dr. Sloop has always given me plenty of time, is extremely knowledgeable, and listens to what i have to say (I have a Masters in BioPsych, so I have a good understanding what is going on in some areas of concern). Dr. Sloop always has a very professional and comforting demeanor and is always looking for unique opportunities to take care of issues, not always throwing medication at it, but also not afraid to prescribe medication when needed. A very rare find these days.

What a great visit. I have a broke back and was in severe pain. My orthopedics doctor was on vacation, so I saw Dr R sloop. He was great. He really took his time with me and let me explain things. He is the best doctor I have et sinc moving to Chico 5 year ago. Thanks Doctors Randal & Randal.

Always ready and willing to help in whatever way possible. You just get a true sense of caring from Dr. Sloop. You can tell that his office is extremely busy and he is seeing patients constantly, but NEVER makes you feel rushed and makes sure to explain everything very professionally and concisely.

Dr. Sloop is by far the absolute best doctor I've ever had. He is very kind and super intelligent! He takes his time and listens to what you have to say! Staff is super friendly and the place is very clean.

Dr. Sloop is the best PC physician I've ever been to & is one of the kindest & most intelligent physicians I've seen. He's an attentive listener & asks questions & makes detailed notes in the chart. He's gentle & thorough in performing physical exams necessary to assess the current situation or complaint. His investigative efforts are 110%. Assessment & treatment are carefully considered & carried out, & he follows your treatment closely. You are in the best of hands with Dr. Sloop. :) jlp

He became our family MD about 5 years ago. In 60+ years, he, is by far, the best doc we've ever had. Emphasis on wellness, treatments without medications, excellent explanations. Just the best. Getting quite busy and having to make appts farther in advance than used to, but that's ok. NP is great for last minute, urgent care.
