Dr. Levin is one of the best doctors I've had out of multiple specialists, and I've recommended him to at least 5 other people by now. I've been seeing him for migraines since 2020, and have always found him to be a knowledgeable and compassionate physician. Dr. Levin is well-informed on the latest medications and clinical trials, and his staff have been excellent at getting prior authorizations approved for the best treatments available. They have also responded quickly to any messages about prescription issues. Dr. Levin is personable and takes time to answer any questions carefully and thoughtfully. I've appreciated how he has worked well coordinating and communicating with my other specialists to make sure my medications do not interfere with one another and that my treatment takes all of my diagnoses into consideration, rather than only focusing on neurology and ignoring anything else. I honestly cannot recommend him enough.

Excellent neurologist
I have seen Dr Levin three times for age-related issues. He has been unfailingly thorough, pleasant, knowledgeable, and careful. He takes the time to explain diagnoses and options, and never seems rushed. I am very pleased with his level of care.

Good listener, informative
Dr. Levin is a good listener, for starters. He is well-informed (as nearly as I could tell) and gave clear explanations without being condescending.

Awful first phone contact
I never got to the visit stage. The person who answered the phone for my first appointment request made it clear that I was an annoyance. He would not tell me how long it would take to get to see the doc and was generally rude. Not a good start, so I looked elsewhere.

Garbage Dr
About a year ago, I received a referral to see Jay, I was in his office for neuropathy and he just dismissed me calling me a drug addict. I left feeling insulted and with no solution or proper diagnosis. About a year later I received an MRI, which was last week, at Holyoke Hospital and found out that I have cervical compression myelopathy. Don’t trust this man, he is extremely dangerous to patients and to the practice of Medicine. You may die in his care, just because he doesn’t care.

I had to wait a few months to see Dr Levin but I am glad I did! He is very personable, takes the time to really listen (not exaggerating here he really did & I was surprised by the amount of time I was able to spend there), and does everything possible to make sure you understand the information and granular details he shares with you, including possible causes, diagnostic options, and treatments. I am very pleased that he is part of my healthcare team.

No! I spoke with Dr. Levin twice after a severe concussion which caused a months long migraine with no relief, as well as hypertension with numbers like 235/140 in a clinical setting. TBI diagnosis. He had his staff call me on the morning of my August appointment to say that "he didn't feel that he could help me." No referral, nothing. I was waiting for the appointment in terrible pain since a med change was necessary due to side effects. I needed a new prescription and was waiting for this appointment. Now, I am since getting answers from qualified doctors at MGH. I don't miss a chance to let people know of my horrible experience with this doctor. One star is too generous.
