Knee has been nothing but trouble.
Wish I would’ve check reviews before I had my knee replacement in 2016. Dr. Johnson suggested a new way of measuring my leg for a replacement knee and my insurance paid for it so I said go ahead. Now I wish I would’ve gotten just a plain old standard knee. This thing has been loose and clunky since day one, even though I followed all the instructions and did all the therapy. It snaps and pops with every step (you can hear it across the room) and if I roll over in bed it shifts sideways and pops out of place, causing acute pain and waking me up. I went back to Dr. Johnson with this complaint and he moved my knee and said, “Wow, that’s really loose. I was sure I had the right size.” He also said that to fix it would take another entire surgery and frankly, I’m not letting him touch it again. I hate living with this knee and wonder when I’ll have to have the whole thing done again. By someone else!

Simply the best~ after a failed TKR elsewhere, I was in total agony and miserable.. felt helpless and in constant pain.. Dr Johnson was highly recommended and I couldn’t be happier with his attention to detail, his patience and how thorough he has been in explaining every step of the process... he took out my original knee replacement and put in a new one.. he is committed to staying with me throughout my recovery to make sure i am getting the best care possible. I recommend him highly..

I never leave reviews for these things, but two things really irritated me about my recent visit with Dr. Johnson. 1.) The MD at the ER just a few days ago said that it was likely we would need an MRI to assess the full damage, so we asked Dr. Johnson if we needed one, and why they might have thought that. His response "Look, if you want an MRI, I can order you an MRI." He didn't explain why he didn't feel like it was necessary, or why the other doctor might have thought it was. And instead responded like we were some overly demanding, annoying people. It left us feeling uneasy and unsure that we were getting the best treatment. 2. Upon returning home, I realized that I wouldn't have enough painkillers to last me until my surgery, so now I have to play phone tag to try to get another prescription called in so I'm not in complete agony for the last 36 hrs before my surgery.

Dr. Johnson did a TKR for me. We tried several things before the surgery. He suggested I make the final decision. He did not rush anything. Post surgery has been good and he is very caring. I would recommend him to anyone. He is with a great TCO group. His staff is wonderful and caring.

Dr. Johnson has treated many of my family members and friends over the years. It was determined I needed a total knee but Dr Johnson offered successful conservative treatment that postponed the need for surgery for almost 2 years. The total knee was preformed 3 weeks ago and according to the literature I am well ahead of schedule and very satisfied with the result. Jim Phillips

On a personal level, he is a nice man, & committed to helping people in foreign clinical volunteer work. My primary doctor says he's an excellent surgeon. His skills freed me from hip pain, & I am grateful. His communication skills are lacking coherence, organization, & completeness. Questions are ignored. The patient wanting to know about arthritis, the surgery, recovery, PT, and the overall plan will need to rely on personal research elsewhere, e-mails to his nurse, or blind faith!

Dr. J. is a really good one. I had a sneaky knee infection that turned from a strain into something seriously worse. After two unproductive visits to an E.R., I was able to get in to see Dr. J the next forenoon (fast). He checked things out and got a number of tests going. Late that p.m. I got a call from him, he wanted to operate on me that night! So around 11pm he, his team, and I were in the operating room. I was in the hospital a week recovering. Years later all is great. Thanks again Doc.
