History of Stones and a Nurse, bad experience
When the familiar pain developed, I got a CT scan which confirmed 1.4 centimeter stone and scheduled an appt with Dr. Smith, soonest available appt. PSA was elevated so he did a digital exam and scheduled follow up over a month out. When I asked for pain medication, as I have already been having kidney area pain attacks (sudden & sharp) and appt is over 6 wks, he responded with your not having pain from that stone. I said then what is it, he responded with musculoskeletal. Why would I have come to a urologist with CT scan, I assume he thought I was drug seeking. I am a nurse with a license to protect and know he could have gone into the computer system to verify medications I have received, I was not going to argue. I would sooner go to the ER, I just wanted to avoid that expense. The attitude and his behavior, I will never refer any of my patients to him. I will drive out of my way for a doctor with a good bedside manner.

The worst doctor in less five minute interaction.
Yesterday, he really didn't care much about my husband as his patient. He never showed a deep passion or good intention to help patients in any way. dared to say that he had to go to another patient in hurry after we just started and had only five minute interaction. He didn't even care to question him anything related to the urine issue or listened. He only had a good motive to make the money out of us. That's what I viewed him as the worst doctor. Don't recommend or trust him so highly!!! . The insurance had no power to get the money back from him even though it was the worst visit he ever had. Be aware if doctor stays focused on patient's issues in the room for 30 minutes or more, that means the doctor is the best!!! He is the worst doctor. That's big difference I could see.

Preached to, questions ignored, wasted our time
Upon entry, he immediately launched into a lecture about how all ERs claim you have a UTI (my husband had a UTI that had spread to his blood and was on IV antibiotic for 18 days) and he doesn't treat those he only treats fevers. (My husband had a fever just under 103 and the ER fought to get it down for 2 days). He glossed over that fact and prescribed a fatalistic outlook that he would only get worse. When I asked about 'best practices' for foley care, he launched into a story about Christopher Reeves (for the second time) trying to illustrate that no matter what precautions we take, we're all doomed. When I asked where we might get supplies, he simply ignored me. In short, he never asked anything specific about my husband, he didn't listen to anything we said and he wouldn't answer any of my questions. The visit was a waste of our time and a waste of Medicare money. A nurse could have done what he did...and more.

He caused a fistula in my father's prostate during what was called turp procedure or green light procedure. Do not allow this man to put a laser on you. He destroyed my father's life. Put him through two surgeries at Cleveland Clinic and that was after his follow up when my dad told him that he was in severe pain. His response to my 70 year old father...SUCK IT UP! Last week he had an obstucted bowel blockage caused by a hernia near his permanent urostomy caused by Dr. Smith. He's now in skilled nursing to build his strength and they are on lock down. THANK YOU FOR destroying my father's life. Maybe you should reconsider your laser hand.
