Dr. Roberts performed surgery on my leg on June 13, 2019, following an auto accident. The surgery was performed w/o any complications. Following the surgery I informed him I was having pain in my knee. He refused to listen to my concerns and told me that I was fine. He refused to order a more extensive evaluations to determine if there was a problem. A different M.D. who I shared my concerns with ordered a MRI which revealed several issues including: 2 meniscus tears, a flap in my knee and two other conditions. My concern with Dr. Roberts is he does not listen/partner with his patients in their care. As a female and African American this is disconcerting as my demographic traditionally has traditionally received poor health care.

I've had two, going on three surgeries with Roberts, it's been a long and hard process for me. Whenever I had a question I would e-mail him thru MyChart and although it would take him a bit to get back to me (bc of his busy schedule) he really took a lot of time and typed out a long response answering all of my questions plus more. I was supposed to transfer to a dr in Chicago when I graduated, but I chose to stay with Roberts and just drive up to Kzoo for my apts bc I dont trust anyone else!!!
