Pre colonoscopy visit.Dr. Matthews explained clearly the prep and what was best for me. I had no problem after the procedure and I will return in 5 years for my next one!

I saw Dr. Matthews for a colonoscopy. Since this was my first time having this procedure done, I was a bit nervous. Dr. Matthews explained everything and eased my anxiety. His team was also great, from getting an appointment and follow up care. Highly recommend Dr Matthews.

Dr. Matthews treated me for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), very effectively. I am still on medication for it, that addresses the problems that I have. Dr. Matthews explains things quickly in medical terms, and a patient might miss part of that explanation, but I think he's an excellent doctor. I had a colonoscopy done once as a precaution for colon problems and an upper GI endoscopy done 2x to determine and address the state of my Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). Each of the 3 medical procedures went smoothly, without any post-procedure repercussions. He additionally diagnosed me with IBS for which I receive medication, as well. The nurses and staff were excellent, also, as was Dr. Matthews. I would recommend him to other patients for the diagnosis and relief that he was able to provide. He is first rate.

I went to Dr Matthews for a colonoscopy. He was very professional and informative during the interview and performed the procedure very well. There was no discomfort and the results were immediately communicated to myself and my wife who transported me. I found the entire staff to be competent. They made me feel at ease and confident in their skills. I will use this group again.

I had a procedure done with Dr. Matthews this week. It was my first time seeing a GI and using the Hunterdon healthcare facilities. Dr. Matthews was very thorough, and proactive in asking questions. He made me feel comfortable. His professionalism and willingness to spend time to listen/discuss were on display throughout the process. It was a very pleasant experiece and certainly exceeded my expectation.

All the nurses involved were caring and helpful. Patti McCutcheon was especially amazing, staying with me every step of the way. The follow-up by the nurses was also excellent. Dr. Matthews explained options and the procedure, assuring me that I would be kept comfortable throughout, which I was. The concern and care was most appreciated.

I was in to see Dr. Matthews for an issue I was having. It was my first time needing to see a Gastroenterologist. Dr. Matthews was very pleasant, professional, and caring, and he provided me help and relief for my problem. The entire staff was very welcoming and caring, and I am very grateful to them. I will definitely go back to them for any future gastro issue I may encounter, and would feel very confident recommending Dr. Matthews to family and friends.

Dr. Matthews is a wonderfully bright, thoughtful, and thorough doctor. He has been a great help to me, and always takes time to explain his thinking and to ensure that I understand.

Dr. Mathews is an extremely rude and demeaning individual. He does not listen to the patient....just keeps his nose buried in his laptop. My issues with him are to lengthy to go into here. This is the first Dr. I have ever told face to face that I thought was completely incompetent. I wouldn't let this guy work on my lawn mower. His Nurses however were very nice. He should learn a few things from them.

I found Dr. Matthews to be rude, condescending, and cold.I related to him that I had serious concerns about my condition which he was incredibly dismissive of. He never called me with the results of my test, instead I had to wait 5 days and call the office twice before finding out from a nurse had to go see a hematologist/oncologist. When I asked for the doctor to call me he waited 26 hours before calling, that is a long time to go wondering if you have cancer or not.
