Dr. Jason Karo, MD

After years with a practice that always felt like I was entering a factory, Dr Karo and his staff are, indeed, caring and supportive in every way. But most importantly, I feel that I am in the hands of a knowledgeable and well trained ophthalmologist. After just one appointment several months ago, I called with a concern about several ophthalmology episodes over the weekend. When I called for an appointment, I was immediately given an appointment with the caveat that I might have to wait. “Gladly”, I said. I highly recommend Dr Karo and his staff.

Excellent experience with WNC Ophthalmology. Dr. Karo did a great job with my eye examination and explained everything to me in a clear manner. He is professional and friendly. The staff members who I interacted with were extremely friendly and engaging.

Dr. Jason Karo is unequivocally an outstanding Ophthalmologist Surgeon and I was so impressed with his Dr. / Patient relationship he exemplifies. Dr. Karo explained all the details in-depth to what was going to be involved in my cataract surgery and explained in a reassuring and understanding manner. I found it very encouraging on how comprehensive his exam was on making sure my IOL replacement lens were the right dimensions and strength. So So important. I had my surgery on a Friday and could not believe that he personally called me later on that day to see how I was doing and make sure I was not having any complications. I am 69 years old and have had many surgeries in the past and never has a surgeon or Dr. called to make sure everything is OK. That is a true testimony on how he provides such a positive and caring Dr. / Patient relationship. In addition his medical staff and office staff are fantastic and so professional. If you need eye surgery I definitely recommend Dr. Karo.

Dr. Karo performed my cataract surgery last month. My eyes are fairly challenging, but he chose so well the correct toric lenses, and I have never seen this well in all my life--truly. He is the easiest doctor I've had the pleasure of speaking with, he explained the procedure in layman's terms easing my nerves about doing this, took his time with me in the exam room, and he and I both are very pleased with the outcome. I am so grateful for his skill and kindness. Definitely recommend Dr. Karo.

Dr. Karo did cataract surgery on both of my eyes. Both were very successful and I would recommend him to anyone with eye problems. He and his staff were very professional and very caring. He called after each surgery to see how I was doing and he took time to answer any questions . He did not rush me through appointments as some doctors do. I am so glad I was referred to Dr. Karo!

In the telling of my recent medical saga, it's obvious that the hero of the story is Dr Karo! After experiencing temporary vision loss, I was referred by a friend/nurse who is a patient. Dr Karo performed every possible vision test only to find the problem wasn't with my eyes. Rather than dismissing me, he pursued my having lab tests with my family doctor's office and wasn't satisfied until he was assured I would have them done. Those first tests came back negative, however, in consultation with my family doctor's office, she said Dr Karo had two more tests he wanted done - carotid artery ultrasounds. Dr Karo called me after those tests to let me know the severity of the blockage on one side. With that, I soon after had a successful carotid endarterectomy to remove the plaque. Throughout, Dr Karo and his office staff called me and stayed in touch. Each time I expressed my profound gratitude for Dr Karo's determination, persistence, faithfulness to his oath and care. He saved my life!

Dr. Karo did cataract surgery for my father and did an amazing job! We were very pleased with the friendliness and professionalism of Dr. Karo and the office staff. I highly recommend Dr. Karo.

My husband and I had a complete eye exam with Dr. Karo. He and staff were very professional and personal. He explained everything thoroughly and we could understand easily.
