Finished with Angry Doctor
After seeing Dr Holbrook for nearly fifteen years I actually had to walk out of my physical yesterday as he chastised me for not scheduling my appointment with Alpharetta Internal Medicine properly. “Either you’re my patient or you’re not but I’m not going to set up your chart just to have you see someone else,” he said. To which I replied, “I simply call and ask for an appointment with you. If you’re not available, they put me with someone else on your team.” At which point he raised his voice and said, “there is no one else on my team, only me. You’re either my patient and you see me when I’m available or you’re not my patient.”His increasing irritation and anger was disconcerting. He is a physician in a practice, Alpharetta Internal Medicine. I don’t ever see another doctor, they send me to what I thought was his PA. I won’t be going back. I will be reporting the incident to the state. He needs some coaching. He might want to set up his own practice so his preference is clear.

I had been seeing Dr. Holbrook regularly since 2015 and was more than satisfied with his and his staff's level of care and service. Last year (2024) things changed - I had 3 appointments cancelled by the office the night before, and by the way, the office has a strict cancellation policy with fees to protect them against late-notice cancellations. Moreover, simple questions submitting on the portal regarding interpreting lab results or whatever were responded to 3 days later with "please set up a follow-up appointment." It's time to find someone new I'm afraid.

Dr Holbrook
Dr Holbrook did my physical and I was very pleased with his concern, mannerism, and knowledge. I had several issues I wanted to discuss and he took the time to listen and gave me answers. Things he could not answer, he referred me to another Doctor. I will be keeping him as my primary doctor for future visits.

I have been going to this office for almost 10 years. They have no respect for your time and will make you wait for hours every time you go for extended periods of time. Just recently I went and was given an extra attitude by all employees. They lost my bloodwork. No one even had the courtesy to call me back and I had to follow up every day. They didn't even show I was there. I did however get a bill for $5 for I don't even know what. I called and spoke to the accounting department and when I started to voice my frustrations she just hung up on me. I called back and asked for the manager and I was even further annoyed and she hung up on me too. RUN FROM THIS OFFICE!!!!

He is a poor listener. He did an EKG and never shared the results. His nurse told me he discussed the results with me the day the test was done. I told her he did not and she said it was abnormal. Saw him 3 months later to go over bloodwork. Asked about EKG results to which he responded You are hear for bloodwork follow up which is a 15 minute appointment and I don’t have time to pull your records. Asked him for a referral to a Gynecologist and he told me he didn’t know that I would have to call around to see who took Medicare. He was very critical of my prior care as I was monitored by an Endocrinologist every three months before moving to this area. He scolded me for being on the wrong medication, not having yearly bone density testing, and not keeping a daily log of my blood sugars. He sat behind his computer screen most of the time. In stead of performing a thorough assessment and really listening to me he focused only on what I was doing wrong or not doing.

I have been a patient for several years and could not be happier. He expects me to do my part in my care of keeping my blood pressure and diabetes numbers which I appreciate. He always responds to my email questions usually the same or the next day. Always informative. Never a long wait, maybe 15 min. But I have caused that in the past myself so I can't really complain. Explains things very well.

Doesn't listen very well, "forgot" to prescribe a drug I needed to take alongside another drug he prescribed which caused me great pain, horrible staff communications, etc... I moved after only 1 year there and am ecstatic with my new doctor and practice. They are professional, friendly and caring everything Alpharetta Internal Med is not!

Dr. Holbrook has been my personal physician for years. The amount of time he invests with his patients is exceptional. Unfortunately I contribute to making him late at times as I often have a "while I'm here" which is not really fair to him or other patients. He is usually receptive and tried to give me as much time as possible. He goes above and beyond in his explanations and I love the diagrams he usually makes me of my issue. Dr Holbrook does hold me accountable as I have diabetes and he expects me to be involved and bring in my diary so I can play an active role in my care. My entire family uses his practice and I have always found staff courteous and helpful, his nurse always does her best to help with refills and trying to get my medications approved with my insurance. I have no complaints.

He's ok... but mostly doesn't care much or have follow-up desires/concerns. He doesn't manage treatments as he should. You can tell he has other priorities and some are outside of work.

The wait times in the office are borderline imprisonment. The office staff are rude and you never get calls back with lab results or to request a new appointment. It's ridiculous to have to wait 2-3 weeks for lab results and then have to chase down the nurse or Dr. for the results. Dr. Holbrook's lack of caring is setting himself up for a malpractice lawsuit. If you can't adequately take care of the patients you have, then stop taking new ones. Time for a new DR!

Wait times are excessive. If you phone the office, plan to talk to a menu and leave a voicemail. No one picks up the phone. Prescription refills are an exercise in patience. Once you actually get in to see him, he is informative and knowledgeable. I would rate him 4-5 stars.... the rest of the experience and service 1-2 stars.

Not enough space so: always late, uncaring, abrupt, cavalier. If you need medicine for routine issues, and don't mind waiting forever and being treated poorly by him AND his nurse, he's your guy. If you actually GET sick like I did (cancer), he couldn't care less. He asked about a new drug on my list at my last visit and when I said nerve pain for cancer he never even asked if it went well. Can't get out of there fast enough. Years wasted. Any doctor will be an improvement over this guy!

He saved my husbands life. He was the 3rd Internist we had seen since moving here. He took the time actually listen to my husbands problems and symptoms. He had surgery 3 weeks ago and is doing great!! Another few months and it is unlikely he would be here. THANK YOU!!!!!!! We will never see anyone else
