Dedicate more time to patients
This healthcare provider did not take the time to answer my questions. Patients come in because they have an issue that needs to be solved. He didn't take the time to explain things and there was no empathy from him.

October 2021 I would NOT recommend Dr. Gilbert he's is arrogant and condescending. He spoke to my aunt like she was a 3 year old, then took an empty paper towel holder and put it up to her ear and spoke loudly into tube. He did this without warning, he assumed she didn't hear him.. when she had. Had to tell him to calm down and told him, he owed her an apology! My aunt takes care of herself and manages her affairs quite well. He apologized to her, it was definitely not sincere and I think he would not have, if I hadn't called him out for his behavior. Also had her thinking her eye condition was extremely going down hill, she saw the specialist a few weeks later, who reassured her the condition was stable. The women on the front desk have always been very pleasant and helpful. The assistant Nick who we had last few times was also great

The doctor's assistants keep changing, and not for the better, it appears, which is concerning. There is a sense of tension when gathering information from the patient. Long wait before the doctor comes in, juggling multiple patients. Interaction with doctor also feels awkward and strained at times. I continue because of his expertise, as of now. Must add that front office staff members are very pleasant.

Best ophthalmologist around! Dr Gilbert is caring, knowledgeable, and professional. Not only does Dr. Gilbert possess impeccable surgical skills, he puts the patient’s needs first, and that makes all the difference. He did cataract surgery on both of my eyes. He explained the procedure thoroughly beforehand and answered my questions precisely with little fanfare. He made sure to choose the appropriate type of intraocular lenses that would create most benefit to my vision. The surgery went flawlessly, and now my vision is excellent. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone seeking top-quality eye care.

My only complaint is the amount of time waiting. Yes you are taken in at approximately the time your appointment was scheduled and the eye exam is conducted by an Assistant (student or assistant) and Dr Gilbert comes in to review the results. Time with the Dr. is very limited.

Dr. Gilbert is indeed pompous and arrogant but I'm not looking for friendship. It is his knowledge and proficiency that keeps my eyes healthy. Honestly, I would recommend Dr. Gilbert to anyone who is seeking out an ophthalmologist with his expertise.

Went in for routine eye exam (free w/ insurance). 2 minutes after being taken into a closed room for testing with an assistant the dr. barges in as if he's expecting results from her already. They had a brief, awkward conversation--he was very condescending. After, assistant asks what brought me in & I told her I was there for a routine eye exam. I added that I had recently been having migraines and she made notes. Later dr. keeps asking me about migraines and then charges me for diagnostic appt

Arrogant and insulting. To top it off after too many trips to his office where he only succeeded in pushing more and varying brands of expensive eye drops and collecting his office fee, I continue to have my eye issue. Waste of time and money find another doctor.

This is my second eye exam with Dr. Gilbert and it took a minute. It's not as comprehensive as I had in Boston where I used to live. In my first exam at this office a few years ago, I was asked to wear my old glasses for my vision test. I was starting to get a headache so on my second exam I didn't wear my glasses. My vision changed according to his assistant but afterwards he insisted I wear my glasses even though I told him they were broken. He didn't explain why so I didn't- my vision changed

While Dr.Gilbert may be an excellent eye surgeon, his bedside manner is terrible! I would not recommend this pompous/arrogant man to anyone.
