Condescending, apathetic doctor for mentally ill
He is a bully and quite rude. Considering he works in psychiatry, I would expect someone with better bedside manner. Instead he decided to get into a testosterone filled argument with an unwell patient to prove he is the higher authority. He raised his voice and even threatened the patient. He then spews a bunch of legal terms and codes to justify his action.I was horrified by the experience and how he works. He seems to lack patience and quite condescending.

Dr. Caplan wasn’t experienced enough to help me
I thought that Dr. Caplan wasn’t experienced enough to deal with my needs. I suffer from mental health concerns, and Dr. Caplan’s level of knowledge was not up to par. I don’t recommend this doctor.

Doctor Caplan diagnosed me after 5 minutes of meeting me and changed my medications without my own psychiatrists approval.

A disgrace to his profession
Dr. Jason Caplan is the worst doctor I have ever met. He is uncaring, rude, condescending, inaccurate, and dishonest. Avoid at all costs!

Dr Caplan is by far the best psychiatrist my family and I have encountered in many years of dealing with my family members mental illness. His compassion and communication far exceeded our expectations for care. He sets clear boundaries which may not be popular but are in the best interest of the patient. Patient safety is his priority. He kept our loved ones well being at forefront even when our loved one was unable to do so for himself. Thank you Dr Caplan for your superior care.

Dr Caplan does an amazing job working with patients in the inpatient setting who are in need of psychiatric care or consult. He is an excellent communicator and makes people feel at ease during their care. He is very knowledgeable and incorporates research and best practice into patient care. I would absolutely recommend him.

I just experienced the same from this bully as all of the above complaints. He is a bully, uses fear and intimidation. Makes threats to have you committed. He told me if I didn't go along with his plan that he would have me transferred into his ward and make my life miserable indefinitely. I'm filing complaints everywhere. My wife video taped everything.

Dr Caplan is a threat to psychiatry everywhere with his gaslighting policies and threatening behavior. He should not be trusted with the health of any human being, and the fact he is head of psychiatry for such a large organization as Dignity Health is very worrying.

I went to St. Joseph EM on New Year's Eve for a horrible headache ,high blood pressure and tongue pain. Dr. Caplan saw me on Jan.1st morning and suddenly filed a petition to transfer me to ConnectionsAZ,UPC where I was treated as a mental patient .I was deprived of all medications for my thyroid cancer and for my high blood pressure for the first 2 days. I was kept there for five days without liquid food to eat(tongue pain) .This doctor didn't care that he was killing me. He is the worst Dr.
