Would not recommend
We have not had a good experience with this cardiologist. He seems to not care about quality of life for his older patients. He does not explain diseases well, and appears to get annoyed when you ask questions. He does not talk to family members. He also is not up to date on the advances that have developed over the last 20 years in valvular heart disease. He tells his elderly patients their only option is open heart surgery, which is not true. This is based off the way he treated my elderly grandparent.

STAY AWAY FROM STYPEREK
My family member has had the worst possible experience in the hospital with this Dr. He spends about 30 seconds with his patient and pretends he cares when he does not care at all. He has HORRIBLE bedside manner. Other nurses in the hospital do not like him either. It is time for him to retire. He wanted to be the cardiologist for my family member and was clearly angry at the fact we already have a cardiologist. I would never trust this doctor to be my cardiologist ever let alone even a general MD. The lack of communication from this Dr. truly puts a disgrace on the medical profession. Nurses tried contacting him several times for orders and he doesn't respond half of the time. He does not even do his job to be completely honest. STAY AWAY FROM HIM AND SWITCH DOCTORS IF YOU CAN! The nurses caring for my family member did 100x of a better job than he did.

A disgrace to the medical profession
Without question the absolute worst doctor I've ever come across. This man (Dr. Januariusz L. Styperek) clearly has absolutely ZERO interest in patient care or wellbeing and is clearly only interested in churning his patient appointments to make a few extra bucks. He spent all of 6 minutes with me then actually started backing out of the room while I was asking critical questions about my health situation, treatment options, and meds. Had I not pushed to get answers to specific questions I would never have received CRITICAL information I needed about treatment options. This man was more interested in running to his next "appointment". What is worst yet is that while he said he had to leave to his next appointment, I found him lingering around his office for another 10 minutes (he clearly did not have an urgent appointment to go to). This person is a disgrace to the medical profession. Without question the absolute worst doctor I've ever come across.

I am appalled in the lack of competency in the field of cardiology and the lack of patient care that Dr. Styperek possesses. He does not return any phone consulting calls from attending physicians (medications ,procedures ,etc,) nor to family. He says he never was consulted. I understand he is practicing for over 50 years and certainly lacks the up to date knowledge. The worst part is yesterday when he discharged my mother from a hospital stay, he says to her you are fine and I will see you next week. She then says… I am not fine with the misinformation you are giving me concerning my pacemaker. He then says to her” what do you want you are 97!” My mother will never set foot in his office! How dare he talk to a patient like that no matter what their age is!

Dr. Styperek has been my father's doctor for around 30+ yrs. He is a very good Dr. and you do get to see him often. He is always checking on his patients during rounds and he is very good with my father. My dad has an afib heart and has been treated by Dr. Styperek as I said for a long time. My father has always had a lot of respect for him, and when my father almost died and bled out after a horrible fall when his blood got too thin, Dr. Styperek worked through the night to save his life.
