Patients aren’t individuals
I had an appointment with her a couple of years ago. She had my name on the chart, and I was sitting right in front of her- but she didn’t recognize me. I worked with her in Labor and Delivery at TMH for about 20 years- she asked for my input about patient care frequently, and even asked me to proofread her son’s school papers. She even performed surgery on me. I know that it had been a while since we worked together, but to not recognize someone she had worked with closely for so long? I was so surprised, I didn’t know what to say. I’m not going back.

Drove 45 minutes to get test results that could have been given over the phone or through the portal. Only to get there and she was not prepared to discuss my results. She had not even looked over my results or had compared them to past ultra sound results . Jana went on to ask me if my choice of panties were to help keep my bulging tummy flat. Left her office in tears and scratching my head as to my medical condition... Time for me to move on...

Front office staff was rude. When I informed them of where I would be going for my perinatal appointment they were so inconvenienced by the fact it wasn’t their choice doctor but one that o had researched. I felt shamed by the doctor for having had a c-section for my first pregnancy and there was unnecessary commentary remarks for anything I informed her of. Honestly This was the first practice that was able to fit me in the schedule and it is evident as to why. I felt violated. Immediately following the appointment and paying the astronomical fees, I found another doctor, begged to be scheduled and am very happy. This woman has a reputation with so many that have made a face when I mention her name. And they do not go to her any longer either.

We waited two weeks for them to call in a prescription for my daughter (they never did). Then, after failing this simple task, they charged me for a missed appointment fee (I assumed their inability to order my child's medication was an implicit termination of our business relationship). I paid the bill (which I shouldn't have) and now they've reported me to collections for the bill that their own website shows as paid in full (happy to share the screenshot to anyone interested!). No time to call in a prescription, but time to harass me? Shameful!

I have been a patient for years and I have always loved Dr. Bures-Forsthoefel's and her office, but since the practice split it has really changed for the worse. The front office staff is AWFUL. It just seems disorganized and chaotic. The phones are not promptly answered, and they are not helpful when they finally pick up. I called trying to get a refill on a prescription. I haven't been in for a year, but do not want to have to go in for a checkup in a hospital building. I have asthma so asked to wait until I get the COVID vaccine. I asked for a 3 month refill. I have been on this same medicine for over 7+ years with no issues. The receptionist said that she would put it "in the patient request", but said she doubted the Dr would do a refill without seeing me. She seemed annoyed by the request. I have my doubts that she will relay an accurate message. "Somebody" will call me back.

If I could give this woman a negative rating, I would. Run, don’t walk, away from this doctor and her practice. She spent the majority of my new patient appointment fat-shaming me and telling me I shouldn’t keep getting treatment for weight management because ‘it doesn’t work, you’ll just gain it all back.’ She didn’t offer any alternative ideas, just continued on a bizarre tirade during which she practically screamed at me for over 30 minutes. She did not listen to my history, conditions, or even my allergies. She didn’t explain what she was doing or why, didn’t answer questions about my treatment or condition, just finally did tests and left the room without ever coming back. On my way out, her nurse specifically sought me out to apologize for the doctor’s behavior, which should tell you everything you need to know about this doctor. Go to North Florida Women’s Care instead. They’re actually professional.

When I set my appointment and received the text appointment confirmation I was not notified of the rules of visitors. My dad and son checked in with me no one said anything. I told the nurse my dad and son was in the waiting room and why. After the appt my dad and son were not in the lobby later to find out they’ve been asked to leave. I know there were special considerations for visitors I was not asked why a visitor is needed. My 5-year son and legally blind dad was in the lobby because I was not notified of the rules. When done with my appt my 5-year-old son was in the parking lot with my father hand walking him to and from. What I’m really livid about an UNMASKED lady and 4-year-old was not asked to leave. My son and dad was sitting quietly WITH A MASK with my phone not bothering anyone and ONLY MY SON AND DAD WAS ASKED TO LEAVE. WHY!!!!! NO BODY ASKED ME ANYTHING!!!!! Why wasn’t both asked to leave, other than the color of our skin what was the difference in our situation?

Condescending and patronizing. I went for an IUD insertion and sensed a great amount of bias in her attitude towards me after expressing no longer wanting any more children. Without saying too much, I consulted other physicians that I have a close relationship with through work and they told me to run for the hills. Long story short, be careful how you treat people.

I have been seeing Dr. Jana Forsthoefel for many years, she has always paid close attention to my gynecological issues. Her and her team of doctors at gynecology & obstetrics came together and helped my husband and I bring our handsome baby boy into this world as well. We are planning on baby #2 and we look forward to having Dr. forsthoefel and her team along for the journey.

I asked to put my purse down before stepping on the scale and the nurse ignored my question and yelled for me to step on the scale. I told the arnp about the nurse raising her voice at me and all she arnp said is “that’s funny.” Being yelled at in front of other patients is humiliating. Needless to say I didn’t put my purse down to have my weight taken.

Do you want your gynecologist to chastise your weight and start listing fast food restaurants she assumes you frequent while you’re half naked and feeling vulnerable? Honey, I wouldn’t be caught dead in a Chik-Fil-A. She made me feel very uncomfortable and didn’t even answer my questions about birth control and rushed me out. When I told her I didn’t want kids she also made me feel bad about myself. I am 32 and she treated me like a child. I’ll never go to her again. Beware.

Dr. F is the best for OB and GYN. She really cares and knows her stuff. I would never want to see anyone else. FULL disclosure: I only see her since I had a bad experience with one of the NP's. Her staff takes extended lunch breaks and do not answer phone at 1pm like their office hours state. Still, none of this deters me from choosing Dr. F as my ob-gyn doctor. Everything else is great!

She was my doctor but I never saw her. The different midwives I saw didn't help me with my extreme morning sickness, didn't address my concerns about the prescription they gave me for it. I would wait in the exam room for an hour sometimes. That was after waiting for a long time just to be called back. They pressured me with scare tactics to have my labor induced. It was one of the worst experiences and put me off doctors altogether.

This office does not take prenatal mental illness in pregnant moms seriously. They deflected my concerns in an endless battle to find the care I needed. I was told that after seeing a psychiatrist my meds could be refilled by the Practioners. This was not honored and responsibility of my care was deflected AGAIN. Under no circumstance would I recommend this practice to any moms that have any propensity towards depression. You will not get the medical support you deserve. Shameful.
