My son waited 6 months for this appointment after being diagnosed with autoimmune issues and having abnormal labs. He hasn’t been feeling well and multiple physicians referred him to a Rheumatologist. He was feeling too sick to walk this morning without being dizzy and as a result we were running late for our 8:00am appointment. We arrived by 8:18am, which exceeded the grace period of 15 minutes by 3 minutes. This doctor made us wait 6 months to see her and then wouldn’t see us because of 3 minutes. When we discussed the reason for seeing the doctor and the reason we were late, Dr. Lai still didn’t care. It should be a crime to do this to a sick child. If you need care, stay far away from Dr. Lai and Texas Children’s. I’m still in shock she wouldn’t see us and we are rescheduled for 14 days from now with another provider. BEWARE of Dr. Lai, she doesn’t truly care about a sick child or she would have seen my son today.
