Very positive experience!
I had a very positive experience with Dr. Altman! I was taken on time and the staff was friendly and competant. During my exam, Dr. Altman was very thorough and answered all of my questions. I did not feel rushed at all. While I'm not a doctor, he really seems to know his stuff. I would highly recommend Dr. Altman for anyone who needs a dermatologist.

Very thorough and knowledgeable
Dr. Altman is excellent as is his wonderful staff. He is very thorough, answers all my questions, and does not make me feel rushed. I will definitely continue to see him.

Would not stain the biopsy- told me they didn’t
I went to Dr. Altman for skin concerns and other concerns. He argued with me that I was perfectly healthy. I am a female and I guess my concerns were not enough for him.He would not send my skin biopsy for the staining needing to diagnose a rare disease that is diagnosed by dermatologist that I told him I suspected.Again. He said I was perfectly healthy and they didn’t do that.I was very sick. I found a good dermatologist who did do the special staining and confirmed diagnosis. I have been finally able to get some treatment to control this. This disease was completely in this doctor’s wheelhouse. He would not even consider the fact that I was sick. He thought I was making it up.It delayed essential care that I am now getting. I went to him bc of his reviews, so I thought it was important to leave one. Delayed my care, dismissed me, and took my money. If your a sick woman, I would go somewhere else.

Competent, I guess
I'm a doctor myself, as well as a practice coach/consultant. I don't want to just be "treated," I want to be treated like a person, and in a friendly environment. Here, everyone is robotic, start to finish. Also, when I pointed out something I wanted removed on my face, the answer I got from the doctor was, "If I do it, it will leave a scar." Huh? I've had this done before, and it was easy and simple. And isn't the name of the practice "Aesthetic Dermatology"? My former dermatologist retired, and I was hoping to establish a relationship with this office. Unfortunately, this is not their strength. I'll continue looking.

I went for a second opinion to see Dr. Altman and was quite disappointed. He didn't even spend 5 minutes with me and was no help whatsoever. Save your time and money and go to another dermatologist.

What a pleasant experience! Office staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Dr. Altman is outstanding. I waited only 15 minutes for my appointment, and he was apologetic about keeping me waiting. He spent a good amount of time with me, and clearly explained my conditions, and what treatment plan he recommended. I found him to be very calm, friendly, and knowledgeable. I am so happy to have found a doctor that I can trust, with a pleasant and helpful staff. Overall, excellent!

Would NOT recommend Dr. Altman unless you have deep pockets and are willing to accept a questionable diagnosis. He asked me to sign a statement agreeing that my surgery was cosmetic not medical as insurance would not pay for cosmetic surgery. How would I know which one it is?? Although willing to bill insurance, he collected his fee up front. Also he did not take a sample of my abnormal growth for lab analysis as he felt it was non malignant due to his observation and experience. 2nd opinion?
