not enough characters for full story, so short version: I have cyclic vomiting syndrome; I've had vomiting episodes since I was a child. In the last year I started smoking weed and it's hands down the best way to control the nausea, but I still have bad episodes. Anyway. Bad episode, I'm dehydrated, I land in the ER. Explain everything to this man–the sickness, the dehydration. As soon as I mention meed, he said "oh you don't have cyclic vomiting syndrome, it's just the weed. you have cannabis hyperemesis syndrome." I told him I'd had these episodes all through my childhood. He hmm'd and wouldn't look at me. I rephrased it as a question: "What else could have caused these episodes? Since I've had them long before I ever picked up smoking?" and he immediately brushed me off with "oh I dunno, but it's the weed." I've never had a doctor so blatantly ignore me. This man should not be working in the medical field. If I see him again, I'm requesting another doctor.
