Dr. James Telfer, MD

Dr Telfer quickly and accurately diagnosed my knee problem and explained it thoroughly and expertly. I was very impressed. I had scheduled another ortho doctor appt for the next day, for a second opinion, and that doctor concluded close to the same thing as Dr Telfer but not as quickly and thoroughly. (Dr Telfer had ordered some special standing x-rays that helped show the problem and he took the time to explain it all very well). Super experienced and good doctor.

I was going to have to wait 7 weeks to see my specialist at U of M. Dr Telfer got me in THE NEXT DAY! Very professional, personable and thorough. Dr Telfer listened to me, took time to explain options and included me in the process. The satellite Jackson Road office was clean, easily accessed and comfortable. He provided painless aspiration of my knee and let me know what to expect from my knee in the future. I'm a distance runner, and couldn't have been happier with my care today.

I was referred to Dr Telfer by my PCP for bilateral knee pain. His office was able to schedule an appointment within 10 days. I found the office staff to be friendly and professional. I found Dr Teller to be very knowledgeable and pleasant, he answered all of my questions, showed me my xrays and provided me with treatment options. He spent time listening to me and what I hoped to obtain from treatment. We agreed on injections in both knees which he did painlessly at that appointment.

didn't spend 5 minutes talking with us, we had many questions about limitations, expectations, and how to care for arm in the next 3 weeks. He acted like we were wasting his time talking.

While I agree he doesn't have the best bed side manor, I think he is an amazing surgeon. He had to piece my leg back together, and 14 months later my leg is functioning. He does move slower at scheduling more surgery, he is a huge advocate for more therapy. But he is very smart and can fix you. Just don't expect him to remember you.

Complete jerk. Doesn't seem to care much for his patients or his practice. I would stay away from him.

I have had zero problems and great results with Dr. Telfer. Best thing I can see is I feel great!

I would definitely not recommend this doctor. He doesn't care about his patients he doesn't spend much time at all he doesn't listen to us, he doesn't perform or help with the issues I have and have had. As a warning I would stay away from this guy. And to add to it and he has an attitude problem ...very big headed

Dr Telfer does excellent work. I had my hip replaced and he did a fantastic job.
