Good experience
I was very happy with Dr. Sykes . He gave me injections in my back after a surgeon caused a tethered nerve and severe residual, chronic pain. Dr. Sykes was kind and gentle. The injections helped.

Depends on your insurance
Great while I had Wellmark BCBS. As soon as I switched to United Healthcare 1/1/2022 he told me he couldn't do my SI joint injections because my insurance would no longer cover them. (this after driving 40 minutes to my appointment and going through the check-in procedure with the nurse). I called my insurance. No pre-authorization needed. I gave them the procedure and diagnosis codes. My shots were absolutely payable and the CSR said they were non-deniable charges. Unless he charged over $5000 (which he hasn't) they can't be denied. This leads me to believe UHC reimburses him at a lower rate than Wellmark, and he no longer wanted my business. Shameful, to say the least!

I have been visiting this doctor for several years. Now since Medicare no longer covers steroids for backs he evidently no longer wants my care. I was told on June 1st I was getting a shot that would take affect in 1-2 weeks. It didn’t so I called. Dr Sykes said he couldn’t help with my pain so call my regular doctor. What the heck- he’s my ‘pain doctor’. My regular doctor I visited today stated Dr Sykes did not give steroids or anything helpful on June 1st. So disappointed. I thought office and doctor cared about patients. Would not recommend.
