I visited Dr Slaughterback in 2008 for an ACL year and lateral meniscus tear. My knee kept giving out after the surgery. He performed another surgery to remove a cyclops lesion and the infra patella fatty pad. My knee still continued to give out as. Finally, a different surgeon removed the tibial fixation screw that had migrated into my knee causing it to give out. My knee never gave out again, however, the damage was already done. Each time my knee gave out I did even more damage. Finally, after seeing several doctors I got a revision ACL surgery as the initial graft was in a much too vertical position and provided no stability. I also needed to get both meniscus repaired, and received microfracture surgery as well. I am now going through 18 months of hopeful recovery. The most disturbing part of this story is that I have all the notes from all procedures and visits. Dr. Slaugherback notes that the screw is nearly protruding through the tibial plateau, but he decided to leave it..

I had knee surgery in Feb it is now Nov and I am in almost consistent pain daily, I have tried to reach Dr.Slauterbeck to ask questions and he is extremely difficult to reach his nurse also told me I need to switch Drs because my schedule does not work with his. He is not willing to call me or see me outside of his few days working. I now have to wait until the end of Dec to meet with a new surgeon to discuss the problems I am having and Dr. Slauthervecks nurse informed me he has nothing to do with my case since I will be seeing a new surgeon that has more availability.

Dr.Slauterbeck got me back to sports in record time. He was very kind and took the time to sit and talk to me. He was not anxious that I was crying because I was upset. He took enough time to make sure I was calm before he left. Overall amazing experience

I have had two acl repair surgeries on each knee performed by dr slauterbeck, and in both cases the results were amazing. First surgery was done when I just turned 16, and I was back to one hundred percent shortly after 6 months with no limitations. The second surgery was performed approximately two months before I wrote this, and i have been told by both Dr. S and my physical therapist that I am ahead of schedule. Dr. S always answers every question I have and always makes time during visits.

You won't find a more talented surgeon in the area. After my surgery I told people who had performed it and could not believe how many people he has helped.

Very impressed with Dr. Slauterbeck. He gets to know his patients and determine how to help them achieve their desired outcome. He came highly recommended by several people and I see why. My son required two surgeries including a meniscus transplant and it doing amazing. We are forever grateful for his care, concern and expertise.

I was very impressed with Dr. Slauterbeck. He gave me options to consider and was supportive of my decision. I could not be more thrilled with the outcome. I highly recommend him. He was highly recommended to me by friends and coworkers and I am so glad we have someone like him in the area.

"The screw was 2 mm underneath the surface. We left it in place" Those are words from my ACL operative report from Dr. Slauterbeck. After a month of my knee violently giving way I had another surgery with Slauterbeck. It did not resolve the problem. A 3rd surgery with Dr. Boynton (Rutland) revealed that the screw indeed was protruding into my knee. He said "The surgery took longer than expected, the previous surgeon used an outdated screw, it was difficult to remove".
