Truly Honored my dad's wishes
Dr. Rodgers was so sweet and caring. My father was admitted through the emergency room because he was having stroke symptoms. While being in the hospital, Dr. Rodgers checked on my father regularly, and after many other doctors, all of whom we great, they discovered my dad's cancer had returned. Being 95 years old, but sharp as a tack, my dad decided he did not want further treatment. Dr. Rodgers listened, never condemned him, or tried to force him to do anything my dad did not want to do. Dr. Rodgers lovingly signed orders for palliative care, then subsequent Hospice care, then even sent a note when my father passed away. My family and I were so grateful for his gentle way and truly honoring our fathers sincere requests. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Outstanding Kindness
I am sorry it has taken me so long to write this. I have been admitted to PIH Whittier 3 times in the last couple of years, each time I was fortunate enough to have had Dr. Rodgers attending to me during my stay. Along with other specialists treating me, Dr. Rodgers was the one who most helped me to understand exactly what my condition was and exactly what treatment was needed and what it would require. I only wish he had an office so I could see him more regularly. Thank you so much Dr. Rodgers for all of your kindness, care and concern, you truly a credit to medicine.

Worst doctor ever! Does not care for his patients!
I have been admitted 4 times into the hospital in 4 months. Dr. Rodgers doesn’t really want to treat the patient he just wants to get them out of the hospital! He starts therapy then rushes the patient out of the hospital. I now know why he told my son I have given up and need palliative care, he is a palliative doctor. He set me up for PT then released me from the hospital! WHY??! Biggest error he sent me home with horrible diarrhea caused by his choice of medication! What respectable doctor does that? If you ever see the name Rodgers on your chart run as fast as you can!!!

Over the year has directed care as the primary hospitalist. His ego gets in the way of providing the best care for patients at PIH. Has created serious medical setbacks for family members.

Very horrible MD. My mother had neck surgery and he completely derailed her recovery! We have filed many complaints on him. I hope PIH does something about this MD because he gives them a very horrible rep.
