Excellent Retina Specialist
Dr. Pate listened to my concerns and after testing and examining my eye, he gave me three options to resolve my issue. I opted for outpatient surgery (membrane peel). I am one day post-op and I am grateful for Dr. Pate's skill and talent. The staff at Taylor Retina are also very professional, knowledgeable and kind. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Pate.

An outstanding retinal ophthalmologist!
Dr Pate definitely listened to my concerns with care, and pre-operatively spent considerable time with me. He is personable, and explained my condition in a way I could understand; he took into account my age (almost 70). He performed excellent exacting retinal work; I can see in 3-D again!

Excellent Surgeon
An amazing surgeon. Preformed my retina surgeries without any kind of problem. Very personable and talks WITH you, not at you. Answer's all questions and just puts you at ease for the entire experience. Follow up care is just as through and friendly as surgery was. I can not think of anyone else I would have do surgery on my eyes.

Dr. Pate is truly authentic and caring. He always takes the time to listen to my concerns. At my last appointment, I heard a patient down the hall say “I love you Dr. Pate” and without hesitation, he said “I love you too!” I highly recommend him!

Dr. Pate treated me on an emergency basis on a weekend and he was patient, skilled, and very kind. He took his time explaining everything to me and I never felt rushed that day or on a follow-up visit. It was a scary situation for me, and I truly appreciated that he understood that and genuinely empathized. He respected my feelings, while being straightforward and honest with everything I need to know. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Post Retina Detachment Laser Surgery Unsched Visit
Concern with floaters and occasional random flashes of light a few weeks after having laser surgery for a retina detachment (fairly large tear). Staff and Dr. Pate worked us in unscheduled and thoroughly checked. Everything looked good! Both Dr. Pate and Dr. Samara, who did both laser surgeries, as well as many other staff members are all the best!
