Dr. James Otis, MD

My experience has been extremely unprofessional, horrible bedside manner. Gaslight all symptoms and pushes you to see other specialist when it all falls on his. I came to him when I needed to come back to my state. He has not been helpful from the start does not listen. Refuses appointments does not get back in a timely manner. When you bring up symptoms and research, he explains his high superiority and shut you down very rudely. He makes me cry every appointment that I go into very hopeful, trying to get answers to something very severe. He needs to have his license revoked and needs extra training The population he deals with. I don’t recommend him to anyone and never would.

one of the worst doctors I've ever had, it's impossible to get any follow-up with him or anything by messaging them in the web portal. in person the appointments were rushed, and the whole time he was smug, arrogant and condescending. would not explain any of his reasoning and kept throwing muscle relaxers at the problem despite them not doing anything to help the pain

Dr. Otis from our first video appointment post [...] through current has treated me with respect, has listened, provided guidance, and been one of the most outstanding physicians I've had the pleasure working with during this whole ordeal. I'm living in a new existence from pre-[...] and one that has shown me the slowing my mind down to be able to absorb things people are saying vs hearing in passing and retaining is a new challenge & I've never backed down before and won't now. When you have dedicated health care professionals that truly advocate for your wellbeing, they are a blessing. I have found that to be a Baystate! So, a tremendous thank you!

Doing what doctor suggested and hoping it helps my headaches

I was very impressed with the care I received from Dr. Otis. My first visit he spent a good 45 minutes with me! More time than my primary has spent with me in three years!! With patience, he listened to my entire headache history. On the follow-up visit he thoroughly explained the results of the MRI, his recommendations for further treatment and all questions I had. Before he ended the virtual visit, he made sure to ask if I was satisfied with all the explanations and did I have any further questions. And he has a sense of humor! I would not hesitate to recommend him for headache issues.

*Dr. Otis was exceptionally thorough. He had read through my medical record before meeting with me. He listened to me and asked if what he told me made sense.

Saw Dr Otis for about 2 years. When I was just seeing him for routine visits/follow ups, all was fine. When I needed additional help, when things got worse, he dropped the ball. I reached to ask him a couple questions about what we would do next since I wasn’t feeling better, i was actually worse, and he was dismissive. I reached out a second time and just never heard back. This was incredibly disappointing and disheartening. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone.
