I met Dr. O'Keefe via my cardiologist, who is one of the very best at the Emory Heart Center. I was looking for primary care physician. He hooked me up with the best one. What sets Dr. O'Keefe apart from the others, his many accolades aside, is his obvious desire to spend time with his patients and come up with a health plan that works. Highly recommend.

Great experience at new office
I visited Dr. O'Keefe's new practice a for first visit. He clearly has more time and the visit was relaxed (compared to his Emory practice) and his staff are very responsive by phone and email. It was a great experience and I look forward to continuing with his new clinic.

Always thorough. For those who felt he used words you didn't understand, just ask to explain. Always takes time to do that and can adjust for familiarity with terms. Never rushed. Caring.

I am thoroughly pleased with every visit I have had with Dr. O’Keefe. He is excellent at explaining questions I may have had regarding health concerns. I feel most fortunate in having him as my primary care physician.

Dismal. Kept me waiting an hour. Then talked to me at the level of college chemistry. He doesn't connect well with me as his patient. Seems to be stuck in some kind "speak" that you would expect to hear from a college student and one who is an intern. Used a lot of chemistry terminology relating to questions I had on my blood work. Can't seem to quite connect to the patient level :-/ I gave Emory feedback about a procedural issue I have. Never heard back from them. In my visit he told me that I should look for a dr outside of Emory, and on my side of town. Doesn't take to negative feedback that actually was unrelated to him but more of a procedural issue I have with Emory. Was quite surprised at this fragility of his ego. Patients are Not robots and he needs to learn how to take feeback positive or negative.

Appalling time management skills. Consistently late, in the 45-60 minute range.

Knowledgeable, kind, helpful, amazing! Dr. O'Keefe first asked about my priorities and concerns before continuing with a thorough set of questions about my health and history. He always gave me ample time to speak, never once gave the impression of being rushed, and was very generous with his time. He answered all my questions, not just by saying "you should do X," but by referring to current research and explaining why I might want to do X or Y. This is truly how medicine should be practiced.
