Dr. Mullen performed surgery on my right wrist. He has such amazing skill and precision! From the start, he displayed wonderful bedside manner provided detailed information answered any questions I had, and thoroughly described what to expect during the surgery. I was awake during the surgery , because of his friendliness, compassion and down to earth disposition, It made my experience a very positive one. I was able to use my right hand and resume wrist movement the following day. I can't say enough about Dr Mullen and his staff. They are truly the best!!! I would highly recommend Dr Mullen!

I shattered my wrist two months ago. Dr. Mullen did my surgery and my recovery has been amazing. I have a very minimal scar due to his expertise. After physical therapy, I am almost completely back to normal activity.I am grateful to Dr. Mullen.

My PCP referred me to Dr. Mullen when I fractured my radial head. He is competent, kind, reassuring and a gentleman. While I did not require surgery, Dr. Mullen guided me through my healing process with specific instructions which lead to my complete recovery. His kind manner alleviated my fears and he reassured me that I would regain complete use of my arm which I have. The entire staff is pleasant and kind. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mullen and am very grateful for his care.

Dr. Mullen performed surgery on my right hand. As a nurse, I appreciated his detailed explanation of the procedure. The procedure was done using local anesthesia so I was awake and chatting with the staff the entire time. Dr. Mullen explained everything he was doing while working on my hand. One of the things I noticed during the operation was his enthusiasm for the work he was doing. I could see that this man loves what he is doing. In fact he said, “ I love doing carpal tunnel procedures because the patient feels good afterwards. In closing, my hand feels great and I am extremely satisfied. I would highly recommend Dr. Mullen.

I had carpal tunnel surgery by Dr. Mullen 26 hours ago, with a local pain block. The discomfort has been minimal. He is very personable, and he explained what to expect. The staff in his office and in the operating area are also very pleasant and knowledgeable. I highly recommend Dr. Mullen.

I am a retired Orthopedic Surgeon. I worked with Dr Mullen for 3 years before retirement and found him to be technically excellent, kind and compassionate. I had a Right shoulder replacement performed at St Clair Hospital as an out patient in 01/2023. Pre-op I had significant pain and 1/3 normal range of motion. Since the surgery I am pain free and have almost full range of motion and my recovery has exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Dr Mullen without reservation.

Dr. James Mullen treated me for a frozen shoulder. I tried physical therapy at first but when that didn’t work surgery was my only option. He explained the surgery to me and answered all of my questions. He really put me at ease the day of my surgery and everything went perfect. He has always been there for any questions or concerns, that I have had since my surgery. I highly recommend him!

Dr Mullen performed carpal tunnel surgery on my left and right hand two weeks apart. Not only is he a skilled surgeon but is excellent in explaining everything going on and answering every question in a very calm and understandable way. I am 150% pleased with my surgery and experience with Dr Mullen and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent doctor and person!!

I had rotator cuff surgery a few months ago, and everything went great! The pain post-op was minimal, and I have been recovering better than expected according to my Physical Therapist. Dr. Mullen is very cordial, and explains things thoroughly. No question is too simplistic. Don’t be afraid to ask anything. He breaks things down very well, so you can understand it. Definitely deserves the 5 stars!

I can’t say enough about Dr. James Mullen. He is an excellent surgeon. He did Complex, shoulder reconstruction surgery (forget the proper name) on me using a graft. I could not be more pleased . Dr Mullen is the best in our area for what he does (Pittsburgh Pa and surrounding area). I highly recommend him. I have complete range of motion back and my strength is a work in progress but that too is almost completely back to normal. The rehab is a long, slow process but with this surgery it has to be done this way for the best results. I would absolutely recommend Dr Mullen to anyone needing any kind of hand, arm or shoulder surgery. You won’t be sorry!!

I shattered my elbow and saw Dr. Mullen the next morning. He was great with me and told me I needed surgery and he could do it the next day. He did a fantastic job with my elbow. The incision looks amazing and he has a great bedside manner. He explains everything and is very thorough. He explained that I needed to keep it moving to get full recovery and I listened. I have seen him three times since surgery. He is very encouraging and very thorough again. He always proves to show an interest in me as his patient and makes me feel very comfortable. He listens and gives good advice to treatment. I am so lucky to have been taken care of by Dr. Mullen.

Dr. Mullen was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. I had a minor hand injury and he never made me feel as if it was minor or that I didn't need to be seen. What a great practice this is!

Dr. Mullen did a wonderful repair of my bicep tendon and rotator cuff. He did an amazing arthroscopic repair, which made the recovery fast and virtually painless. He spent a lot of time discussing any concerns I had, prior to the surgery, and then on my follow up visits. I was back doing my gardening/ landscape job in 4 months.
