Very patient, clear and concise provider
Dr. Morse took the time to ask about my medical history that could potentially lead to a diagnosis. He is very knowledgeable and took the time to explain what he thought may be going on. He ran labs from a perspective that he was looking at my medical history holistically. Great experience from the PSR at the front desk to the MA out back and the lab. Very organized and professional practice all the way around!

Not impressed
Dr. Morse was 20 minutes late to our appointment and did not have the complete endoscopy report from another hospital. The visit felt rushed. The information he gave me about my condition was nothing I hadn't already found on hospital web pages.

A bad Prescription for What Ailes You
I'm a patient here of Dr. James Morse and can confirm the accuracy of most, if not all of the dozens and dozens of other reviews on Portland Gastroenterology Center that state it's general state of incompetence and difficulty in dealing with. Perhaps like many practices, particularly in Maine, this company, (and that's what it is. It isn't a "practice", it's a for-profit company) is chaotic, confusing to do business with and outright insulting in the level of care and professionalism in handling patients. Regardless of whether or not they have seen you, the follow-up is nearly non-existent as many other reviews appear to claim. I didn't even know I was supposed to be using a "proton pump" or other medications until I called back, over a year after my endoscopy and colonoscopy, with severe lower abdominal pain, stomach nausea, etc., hoping that I might be seen. Staff appears to exist only for the purposes of making you jump through hoops and limiting their liability by listening to your
